And some less exotic tool? My ultimate goal is to make a pyNES IDE, completed with emulator (will use Nestopia for this), included Python distribution (so you won't need to install it yourself) along with all needed things for pyNES, CHR editor (will bundle yy-chr for that as this is IMO best tool out there) and nametable editor (??? as I don't have anything here yet as this thread shows).
You'll be able to write game, hit play (game will first compile then will be ran in Nestopia) and edit game chr/nametables (yy-chr and nametable editor will be available under tools menu).
Of course to do that I first need to find all tools that'd be required for such thing (already decided on programming language and libraries, only need to have nametable editor to put there) and need pyNES to be finished (sound support...) and me knowing actually how it works. It'll be similar in working to
Visual Batari Basic, so making games should be easy. There will be also default game template provided.
