I can't think of a better place to ask this question, since you guys are the end all of NES info. Also, I would have no idea what to search for in the Search option to find the answer to this question, so here goes.
I want to create my own vocal samples that emulate the NES sound. For example, I want to make my own versions of the "Blades of Steel!" of Blades of Steel, or the "HEY!" of TMNT3, or the "LAZER!" of Gradius 2.
Basically, I need to know what the specs are of those recordings, if there are any. Is it an actual bitrate and sample rate? Or is it purely noise?
I found out Winamp will allow me to export normal wav files as DSP Group TrueSpeech 8.000kHz, 1bit, mono wavs. it sounds pretty close to the NES. But still a little too clean.
Any ideas?
