Is it possible to convert the Tengen 64 Mapper (
http://bootgod.dyndns.org:7777/profile.php?id=583 ) to some more common mapper ?
The reason I asking is simply the Shinobi Arcade Hack (
http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2348/ )
which is simply too gorgous !
A RAMBO-1 game would need to be patched to use a more common board. The exact target for such a hack would probably be either MMC3 or FME-7, depending on which features of the RAMBO-1 the game actually uses.
Or you could use a PowerPak, which has (at least partial) support for the RAMBO-1.
Thank you !
Originally SHINOBI (Tengen) is indeed a RAMBO-1 Mapper game, after a little research and checking the patched game ( Tengen Shinobi to Shinobi Arcade ) I realised that Jabu ( who hacked the game ) seem to ported the Mapper over to NROM PRG128 - CHR128 / Horizontal ( checked with the NES Mapper Program )
Im looking now for a NROM donor, but it seems NROMs are max 32k for PRG and 8k CHR
Shinobi is 128k PRG and 128k CHR.
Can a NROM Donor handle a size eprom ? ( I got 27c010 and 27c1001 here both have 128k )
it will eequire some rewiring (since those are 32pin on a 28pin board ) ?
If he changed the mapper to 0, that was in error. NROM simply cannot support more than 32† KiB PRG and 8 KiB CHR.
† or 46 to 48 KiB in a proposed form that hasn't actually been instantiated
