Regarding this article in the wiki, I wonder what's the proper meaning of PPU "rendering". It's often to say "the PPU is rendering when sprites or background are enabled". Other definition regards this and the scanline number in the visible field (21-260 or 0-239). OK, after reading the article, it says to write $00 to turn off rendering, then write $1E to turn on rendering, but does bits xxxx x11x (bg/spr clipping) matter for the rendering "state"? Or even the scanline number?
