Would it work? The PPU seems to rely on the current sprite size for its in range evaluations... so I'd imagine that changing sprite size mid frame might potentially cause one or more scanlines of corrupted sprites -- that is if it even works at all.
This is one of those things I've wondered about, and am not sure what would happen. Does anyone know if this is allowed? Or if it has horrible unpredicatable side-effects?
While leaving the PPU on... of course. I'd imagine it'd be perfectly fine to shut the PPU off, switch size size, then flip the PPU back on.
