I noticed today that the Nintwndo World Championships 1990 ROM has a test mode for its IRQ timer. I don't know if anyone here already knows about it, but I decided to post about it just in case (apologies if this is old news).
To access the test mode, on controller #2, hold the A button and press SELECT on the title screen. The cart will start the timer, then display on the screen how much time has elapsed. The timer assumes 60 frames per second and is updated every six frames (1/10 sec). When the IRQ fires, the timed result is displayed as the "final score" on the end screen.
This feature can be used to help validate emulator accuracy of mapper 105, if we know how long the timer runs on real hardware. When run on Nestopia, the timer stops at 6:14.0 under the default DIP settings.
Is there anybody here who has access to the NWC cart and would be willing to run the test and report the output for each DIP combination?
(Incidentally, the NWC cart also responds to B+SELECT at the title screen...)
