Ok I read every post I could find on color emphasis questions and I didn't find my answer so...
I just tried blargg's litewall-2 demo and get:
I believe the sawtooth artifacting is from color emphasis changes. Reason being because the colors of some squares change correctly and without the sawtooth artifact. Also, if I disable the color emphasis handling it looks clean [but obviously less swell!].
So, question...when are the color emphasis bits applied to the output stream? Is it possible to correctly emulate color emphasis only in RGB or do I need to use blargg's NTSC library to do it? What about PAL?
Blargg/Neilbaldwin: KUDOS on a bang up demo, by the way! I can almost feel the techno beat...come on Strongbad!
