Can anyone point me to an accurate 2C03 RGB NES palette that you can use in the major emulators? Is it really true that no less than 12 entries are just black (the right-most three columns.) Older versions of Nintendulator showed this, and only two grays were available. It is important, I think, to show how exactly NES and Famicom games look on a Playchoice 10 or a modded console.
Also, I think from this palette, people get the idea that the NES can only display 52 colors. 64 - 11 duplicate blacks - 1 duplicate white = 52 unique colors. An NTSC or PAL PPU, on a decent monitor, can show 64 - 8 duplicate blacks - 1 duplicate white = 55 unique colors.
