Okay, this is the situation. I want to go to my friend's house over the weekend, and I want to bring my fairly new Wii U. Being used to carrying my SNES with a ton of games around it and not having a problem, I put my Wii U and the controller and the cables in a bag. I get there and open the bag, and to my horror, it looks like somebody rubbed it with sandpaper. Not wanting to make the same mistake, I wrap it with a cotton shirt (I had spent the night there and had extra clothes) and, of course, there are even more scratches on it. I know several people are wondering who cares, but I have such bad OCD, that I've literally been loosing sleep over it (which is why I'm writing this right now). So, here are my questions: What method is best for hiding scratches, (it seems to be using ordinary car wax) and is it somehow possible to actually physically remove scratches? Unfortunately, I'm assuming this would be practically impossible, considering you'd have to have molten plastic fill in between the grooves of the scratches (without melting anything) and then harden perfectly to where there is none sticking out. And also, what good ways exist to actually protect plastic from further scratching when moving? This may sound ridiculous, (as if I'm not already) but should I wrap it in plastic wrap? Really, this shiny plastic stuff should be banned. It may look (potentially) better when you first open it from the box, but problems arise literally the second you try to get it out, and that's that it smudges. Dust also shows up way more on it, (the fact that a lot of shiny plastic is black doesn't help) and if you try to wipe of dust or fingerprints off of it, there's a 99% chance that you'll just more scratches. The SNES I have (I think the version I have is like 2/1/3) is at least 20 years old and I don't even see a scratch on it, and like I said, I often have it rub up against a bunch of other plastic games, where the Wii U got scratched from being wrapped in a shirt.
Okay, I'm sorry for my rant, I'm just a little frustrated.
