Is there a better Baseball game than this on the NES (or Famicom)?
If so, fill me in. This has been my fav for years. Great graphics, music isn't that annoying, and it's tons of fun.

Doesn't look that much different from
Tengen's RBI Baseball.
But as for graphics,
Bases Loaded looks closer to TV baseball, "patch chip" and all.

But it plays 100X better.
Plenty of baseball games to choose from (even more on Famicom, heh), out of all those, Baseball Simulator 1.000 and Bad News Baseball are my favorite ones.
I've never played RBI, but it looks like the US version of Famista. It's not bad, but not as fast as Bad News Baseball.
I'll look out for Baseball Simulator 1000.

PS - Gotta love Bad News for cut scenes, too!
Well there are two other baseball games that I would rank up there with Bad News Baseball, Baseball Simulator 1,000 and those are Base Wars (lets face it you can't beat robots beating the hell out of each other), Legends of the Diamond which has some interesting things in it like dogs running out on the field to pick up foul balls. Plus you can pick from a variable list of legends in the sport. Oh yeah, I forgot to metion that if you hit someone with a pitch or vice versa there was a chance they would charge the mound and attack the pitcher.

It is a port of "Famista" (no year). The many Japanese sequels (Famista '87 through '94 I believe) bear no resemblance to the US sequels (RBI 2, 3).
Shameless plug: RBI Baseball has quite an active following at
Dee-Nee.com.
I've always been a huge fan of the first Baseball Stars game. My buddy Kris and I always had a blast playing that, and even setting up our own tournaments and what-have-you. I like the teams on it, and the American Dreams are my favorite. Give it a go, I think you might like it. You can rob homeruns by climbing the wall, too
I did have a copy of Baseball Stars growing up, and it's not a bad game at all. I had a user-created team with everyone's stats maxed, or had bought all I could buy, or something. It's been a while.
There's a few Baseball Stars fans, and there've been a few requests for BS-editing software, but I'm just not motivated enough to do it. Besides, I like RBI much better.
Bad News has always been my favorite. I love Simulator's season, but it goes so slow for all the other games to be simulated that no matter how much I want to play a 165 game season, I can't. Even holding tilde in FCE takes too long.
Does anyone know what Japanese game Bad News Baseball is based on? I've looked all over, but can't find it. And also does anyone know of an editor for Bad NEws?
