in addition to the instruction booklet what came with it?
some have tould me that maps and some sort of monster booklet came with them, if this correct?
The "Zelda Maps and strategies" thingy came with it.
What about Zelda II? I bought my copy boxed at a garage sale for $1 or $2 a few years ago (although not in the mintest of conditions) & I have always wondered if it was complete...
Only thing extra I remember was the overworld map poster.
My brother in law's copy comes with a german gold booklet, a french cheap black and white booklet (don't know if it's original or not), and a map with a lot of stuff noted on it.
can someone conferm ithat these came packaged with the game?

OK think I got is figured out this is an image I took from Ebay
it pictures the instuction booklet, the maps and stragities thingy
then a BLUE thingy now that I do not have a scan of but it is clearley zelda related beacuase you can see the map on the back of it
What is the blue thingy? I want a scan of it
Mime came in a grey cart. Was that standard edition.
The gold cart was the original. That blue thing looks like a subscription form for Nintendo Power, which I don't think was being published when Zelda was first released. The original Zelda came with everything in the above image except the blue subscription card.
Then why did they sell grey? Was that rare?
if anyboady had the Zelda Maps and strategies thingy it would be nice if you ran it though a scaner for me cause the one I have is not great
if you do not want to take the time to scan the hole thing just the damaged section of this one would do

Woah, nice graphics! I'd like to get my hands on that game.
Seriously though, when it was re-released (so was Metroid) it's possible that the map was re-done. I don't know though.
I have two carts of Metroid. One with a grey background with NES in Game graphics and the other s more yellow with a more real looking samus on it. What's the difference?

The re-release got a new label. Compare the
old label with the
new label.
Yerp those are it. why did they release it. Was it filled with glitches at first?

If demand for a game in the used market (e.g. GameStop) pushes the price high enough, the publisher may consider putting the game back into print in order to compete with resellers. This happened with
Rez for PlayStation®2. It also happened with
Punch-Out!! (with a slight ROM hack to genericize Mr. Tyson into Mr. Dream) and with
Metroid. Furthermore, some NES games that were ported from the FDS got rereleased on Famicom cartridges near the end of the Famicom's lifetime, such as
Super Mario USA (originally
Yume Kōjō: Doki Doki Panic).
Didn't "Punch Out" come before the classic series re-release?
And wasn't Mr. Tyson actually in the game at one point?
I think Tyson was taken out of the game due to the rape conviction.
This list doesnt have Zelda, but there is a fellow who is recording the contents of factory sealed NES games, so this will give you an idea of what makes certain games complete:
Anyways, here's his list.

"The Legend of Zelda" that was released here in Sweden back in the 80's (the small box, gold-cart), did only came with a manual (no map!). However I remember buying another zelda cart a few years later and that one came with a map.
