I've been wondering if someone out there could make a windows screen saver out of the FDS BIOS rom. I would love to be able to watch Mario & Luigi fight it out all day long while I'm at work.
But if you're at work then how would you see it?
EDIT: also it wouldn't necessarily save the screen as it'd be projecting what is essentially the same image all the time.
a simle way it to use an emulator with can record video and use a program witch can convert video into a screen saver

Yeah, I thought about this, but then it wouldn't be random.
I wondered if this was possible too quite some time ago because it's not a bad idea.
None of which you are suggesting would be random. Plus, your boss might either be mad at you for seeing that kind of thing, or like most places, the system admin prevents people from doing that kind of thing.
It can be for home use too! My idea: try recording it to avi on an emulator and find a tool (online thru google) that converts avi to screensaver (i forgot the screensave .ext and am too lazy to look for it).

Get a Cube and Melee.
so what I am gathering he wants a screen saver/emulator
a program witch runs an NES rom if no button is pressed after a wile
or perhpas he might settle for a screen saver witch play an assortment of videos randomley after a wile, those exsist
Yeah, basically a screen saver/emulator that just loads the FDS bios for Mario/Luigi brawling action.

Hopefully this will become a reality.
You COULD package the BIOS+emulator and rename the EXE to SCR. By the way, it's "not good" to do such thing. So, the BEST option is an artistic work, by recreating the screens and animations in an higher resolution... and that's it, compiling a screen saver, freeware and legal.
