Should NesDev move from Parodius.com to RetroMachineShop.com?

RetroMachineShop makes more sense than Parodius, in my opinion.

This is why I feel so:

NesDev.Parodius.Com:

Pros:
P-1. Shorter URL that is quick to type.
P-2. Been that root domian for quite a while.
P-3. Wouldn't have to fix all the URLs on the entire site.

Cons:
C-1. A lot of people, their first gut-feeling from 'Parodius' is that it is just another Parody / Hoax / YouTube-Poop / Rick-Roll site.
C-2. Many people forget how to spell Parodius, or else have to ask another person how it is spelled or have it written down.

NesDev.RetroMachineShop.Com:
Pros:
P-1. Has a better ring to it.
P-2. Is very hard to *not* know how to spell.
P-3. Is a root URL that may be taken more seriously.
P-4. NesDev doesn't have to be moved to a new server in order to be a sub-domain of Retro Machine Shop.

Cons:
C-1. Most URLs on entire site would have to be mass-filtered to reflect the new domain name.
C-2. Retro Machine Shop is on a shared server, not a dedicated one.
C-3. Retro Machine Shop is owned by me.

I am sorry but where is this comeing from? The admins I am sure are not considering such a change, this seems to be just nonsence.

Shorter URL? Try nesdev.com and see where it takes you.

Just trying to set up a network with a larger user base.

Retro Machine Shop is a child network of Ideal Generation Network Technology Sect, a company I am the CEO of.

IGNTS is against unsolicited ads for the purpose of maintaining a network, and deems it appropriate to rather accept donations, pay from one's own pocket, or otherwise pay for the uptime and hosting through stores selling its own original products directly related to the needs of the user-base, or otherwise products from it's members with a variable donation amount going toward the store as decided at any time by the originator of the product.

IGNTS, appreciates that membership be free, and that membership not be required in order to appreciate the full scope of the network.

IGNTS is not a commercial company, however it does seek to assist and make alliances in online underground non-commercial special interest groups such as home-brew game development, open source communities, and other open-information communities and individuals.

I personally think of IGNTS more as a hobby-startup, and possibly future family owned hobby and personal liberties hub, than as a business.

I have always thought of IGNTS as a Open-Information Personal and Civil Liberties Peer-Based Union which requires no membership nor any payed dues in order to take part in the full scope of what such could offer.

We ate his minstrels?

by on (#33729)
they banned him for just being a jackass?

That seems a little harsh.

by on (#33730)
Yeah, it does seem harsh, until you realize he's been a jackass for a long time, and that it finally came to a head.

and here I was thinking, wow, it took this long?

in other news, why are most links still "nesdev.com" if "nesdev.com" works fine?
why not move to "nesdev.org" or use it as another name? it makes more sense, since this is a loose orginization of people interested in it.

Free "advertising" of sorts for their gracious host, maybe?

I like things the way they are. Even moreso now that Captain Gluehuffer is gone.

I mean, seriously, wow.

For great justice! Thank god for that. He'll be back though. And this time? There'll be two of 'em.

Also, wasn't he heavily asperger syndrome/autistic?

by on (#33737)
He was. I don't believe he even mentioned on this web forum. Are you him?

There is controlled diabetes mellitus, and then there is uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Likewise, there is controlled Asperger syndrome (e.g. tepples), and there is uncontrolled Asperger syndrome.

he had it coming, sooner or later.

by on (#33750)
Its true that he did seem to be completely lacking in the ability to recognize any regular social cues. Completely oblivious to how others are reacting both on an intellectual level and the normal subconscious level that guides most of us.

by on (#33771)
I really didn't have that much of a problem with him... There are a few people who have probably gained 100 posts to their post totals by posting information irrelevant to the topic about how much they want jargon to be banned. I didn't take his gibberish posting too personally, and I didn't really get passionately angry about it. Honestly, it seems like some people were enjoying being angry with him. I think if you want someone to stop posting garbage, stop responding to it. Posting things like "Your f***ing retarded" really doesn't help.

by on (#33775)
Celius, I admire your compassion. However, I'm pretty sure everyone can come to the conclusion that NO form of written communication can "help."

His presence diverts from education and communion.

What has helped and will help is the LACK of his presence.

Let's let a few weeks pass and maybe you'll come to the same realization. No comments here needed at that time and no "I told you sos" will be said.

by on (#33776)
I'm sure this board will be better without him, mostly because everyone won't be posting about how much he sucks. And I do see reason for him to be banned, I just think he was made into a subject that needlessly took over the discussion in a couple of threads. Don't misunderstand me, I don't want him to continue to post garbage.

Oh and also, by posting this, I realize that I, too, am guilty of contributing to thread hijacking. Perhaps most of this thread relating to the banning of jargon should be moved to the "Is this board better off without..." thread.

by on (#33777)
...and I really wonder why this poll is still OPEN for votes! :(

by on (#33778)
So he managed to be the 2nd person (in what, 7 or 8 years?) to be banned. Nensondubois was the first one, and he's since been unbanned for a long time. I would probably unban jargon too.

I'm just fine with anyone doing pretty much anything here, except being disruptive constantly.

Yeah... What the heck!?

by on (#33788)
That could get us shut down right and Nensondubois keeps contacting me about his password being reseted which is annoying because I get like five or so e-mails a day from him motivating me to get an anti-spam blocker.

by on (#33794)
Oh yeah, if someone is being annoying the best thing is always to ignore him. I ignored the other annoying guy all the way along and I didn't see any problem with that. If someone is posting crap and that nobody on the board ever notice him or say anything about his crap then he will eventually leave.

But yeah the other guy's post were pure non-sense, but since I'm not an english speaker it's quite usual to find things that I can't make sense of, so I just ignore it.

by on (#33795)
Being a native speaker of a language doesn't really say anything about how good you are at reading/writing it (as has been proven countless times on internet forums).

by on (#33816)
I bet there's NO TECHNICAL point from WedNESday, but a *bump* about this thing (poll). I see no reason to keep this topic alive, plus nothing to justify a "nesdev move" from Parodius.com. It's like you all are feeding Jargon...?
