I have been trying to contact the guy who runs RetroZone for the past 3 months.
I ordered stuff from him 3 months ago which was never received. After being as nice as possible and numerous attempts to contact him I have never received a reply.
I want to know why this guy won't communicate with me. I want to know why he won't send me what I ordered.
All of my previous attempts at corresponding with him were delivered with respect, I truly admire what this guy does and have no personal hard feelings. This is just business. But I wonder what is going on here?
I even dismissed the fact that I never received what I ordered months ago
and just wanted to establish contact so that I can order more stuff from him. Talk about trying to be nice...
I don't even care about receiving what I ordered, a friendly e-mail and explanation would be great.
Tony
i don't know the deal with your situation, but i ordered a Glider and Nesnake cart from him about a month or two ago and received it about a week later. did your payment get posted on paypal?
My "deal" is exactly what I stated. Read it, you can take it to the bank.
Yes it got posted and I was charged (i.e., I paid for it and never received). For some strange reason this guy won't talk to me.
Actually opened a "dispute" with PayPal after 2 month went by and only after numerous attempts to contact him. That was only an attempt to establish communication with him and buy more of his stuff, even though I never received what I originally ordered.
I let the dispute expire because I didn't want to be an asshole about this.
Tried via e-mail a dozen times, using alternate e-mail addresses, tried through PayPal, his phone number was not in service and he never responded to the PayPal dispute. Tried through NESdev forum, sending a friendly private message and posting a friendly message in the forum.
I also tried, as a last ditch effort to have someone who knows him, e-mail him for me. I was told there was no reply.
Everyone else has never had a problem, everyone else has received what they ordered and are able to communicate with him. Why not me?
I don't care about losing my money, I do however wonder why in all my efforts I can't even get a response, an explanation or a friendly apology.
I have never spoken to the guy, never met him before or ever had any kind of dialog with him. If he has something against me, then why accept my money?
I really only wanted to buy more of his stuff.
T
I know he blocks certain types of email adresses. (hotmail, I think gmail and a few others.....i'm ignored by him on irc right now though.....but i'll try to pass the message anyway for ya)
Yes, I knew about the blocking issues so I tried numerous times with my optonline.net e-mail and my yahoo e-mail, also through PayPal and by sending a private message through this forum, and had someone who knows him e-mail on my behalf.
I'm not angry at the guy, just got a little angry that I can't buy his stuff. I admire what this guy does.
Thanks,
T
ya.....he's on irc now...trying to get someone to pass the message.
edit: otherwise come on irc and ask yourself!
Did you get insured shipping? Next time, get insured shipping with a tracking number.

I didn't care about not receiving what I bought. Maybe it did get lost. My complaint is that I and a couple of other people who have tried to contact him on my behalf can't get any kind of response at all. I've been trying since April.
I tried contacting via 2 different e-mail addresses, call the phone number listed in his PayPal sellers account, sent a private message here, posted twice here, had other people who know him e-mail for me. Had someone try to contact him yesterday via IRC and this guy told me he was "blocked" from communicating with him via IRC. Why would that guy be blocked?
Every message was friendly and understanding explaining that I just wanted to be able to buy more of his stuff.
I make and sell stuff too. Sometimes I am
really late on orders, but I stay in constant contact with my customers. So I can completely understand when mistakes happen, but avoiding someone who is as nice as I am is not understandable at all.
So I'm just going to drop it now because it's apparent to me that something else is going on here and I don't want to pursue something as weird as this has become. (I don't have any hard feeling towards the guy.)
I'm not going to try to contact him anymore, nor will I bring it up again. This will be the last of my posts to this thread.
Tony
I realise this is some bullshit but you could always try regular mail before giving up

You do realize that he could possibly be dead?
Then the question is, why is electro not getting replies from bunnyboy's ghost/stand-in, while others are?
I don't think he is dead considering the powerpak has been/is in stock as of resent.

It's not like he completely vanished. He's been posting on the forum every now and then (most recently today).

Hell, I'm curious to know if you were successfull in contact the guy!
Being ignored sucks.......noone wanted to pass the message.
Yea its sucks getting ignored.
When I 1st bought the powerpak and ran into the RGB nes compatibility issue he said he would assist. After the 2nd email he never wrote back. I have been as polite as I could be in every email. I final solved the problem on my own as you can see in a post I started here.
When it comes down to money he should be prompt. I at least got my item.
If I did not I would really be pissed.
I have had way better treatment from so so Chinese shops.
He is a smart guy but his social skills suck. If he is that over loaded with projects or personal things he should just say so, finish up what he started and take a break.. get laid, what ever helps.
Yes, you have to make time for "amore". Getting laid definitely helps with social skills, very true. It also helps with the creative process.
I am stunned that this happened. You should see how nice all of my messages have been. Not stunned that I never received the item I bought, but that he is deliberately ignoring me. For what reason?
All of my messages to him were like this; I am a nice guy, I know first hand mistakes happen, that is a non-issue, I don't care about that. I just want to establish communication with you so that I can continue to buy more of your stuff.
Communication is essential. But I guess I'm not privileged enough to actually communicate with him.
Whatever, I'll wish him well, but must say this is what is know as being rude among gentlemen.
You have to admire and respect with he does, there's no doubt. But there's no excuse for the absence of common courtesy.
(I'm just being silly now, sorry. Just blowing off a little steam. I have no hard feelings.)
Pffft, his customer service skills only suck because he has no real competition right now. His tune will change if some other evil genius comes along.
the problem isn't the evil genius.....but money......it costs alot to get molds for plastic ect made.
What would that have to do with ignoreing costomers when your running a busness?
If one is in business to make a profit, one wants to keep customers. If there is a competitor, then customers will choose whichever has better service/prices/etc. (competition). If there is none, one has a monopoly. If customers need the goods/services you provide, then they have no choice, and thus you have little incentive (profit-wise) to improve.
The thing is, I don't think bunnyboy, kevtris, and others sell/sold NES-related products primarily for profit, so I don't think the above applies. In fact, I think they'd probably be happy to let someone else offer the same products, if it meant both better service and an opportunity for them to focus on NES development rather than having to run a business. The goal was for these things to be available to NES developers, and they are/were the only ones in the position to provide it.
I don't know about that. I know it was a concern of bunnyboys that a company such as neoflash might clone his device, for this reason he chose not to make his mappers open source. So he dose hove at least some interest in not getting copied.
kevtris on the other hand this probably true of him
Naturally noboady wants there work stolen and have outhers profiting off there back wether or not they intend to do so themselfs or not so......
The reason he didn't want neoflash or similair to rip him off. Is cause they tend to just steal hombrewers work and run with it. Specificly for profit. Unlike people as bunny who just like doing it. (he probably wouldn't mind if someone made a replica as long as he didn't do it for profit and made his own thing (Not copy his totally)
What I meant with my argument earlier is that it takes money to do this stuff so another "evil genius" is not likely to come by.
I've tried to contact this guy earlier aswell but have never recieved an answer.

So, that guy seems very strange... as most of you are trying to justify his position of ignoring customers.
