I feel like starting a little game, I would like people to come up an acronym that WII should have stood for rather than the meaningless name Wii.
Personally I got nothin but lets see what people more creative then I can come up with.

Worldwide Inhaling Intoxication
(PS : it seems everyone on this board are fans of this system. Am I the only one who dislike it and think Nintendo fell very low ?)

Doesn't look like Banshaku's a fan, but you're probably in the minority of console owners worldwide, considering it's on track to break overall sales records set by the PS2. I'm not sure why anyone would think Nintendo "fell" at all. If you're disappointed that you can't play the latest Splinter Cell on it, that's not Nintendo's failing, that's the developers who bet on the wrong system and have lost a lot of money as a result.
The current HD game development model is not sustainable. It used to be that a game that sold a million copies was a huge success; now they have to sell that many just to break even. On the Wii, costs are still low, and many developers have found success there despite selling a hundred thousand units or less.
I have to say I am disappointed with the Wii. The balance board really let me down. When I first heard about it while it was still in development it sounded like I was going to be able to grab my Wii Zapper and literally run around and shoot people.
If the wiimote worked the way it should it would be nice but really the controller is fairly clumsy, from what I've seen of Sony's Wiimote clone with a light-bulb on top of it, it appears as if it may function the way the wiimote should have, I have purchased a motion plus and I also have red steel 2 to try it out on but I have yet to do so.

The Wii's pointer functions always worked flawlessly, the issue was just with motion sensing outside of what the IR camera could pick up. With MotionPlus, the Wii remote has the exact same functions as the bulb thing (Move?) except for the EyeToy-like functionality of showing video of the user. Current tech demos are impressive, just like any unreleased device, but it's highly debatable that they'll come up with any gameplay possibilities that the Wii can't do just as reliably.
One thing Sony hasn't been shy about is using two bulb controllers, one in each hand, for better overall sensing of the user's position. This would be just as possible with two Wii remotes, it's just that nobody's done it yet.
Red Steel 2 is pretty fun, but the true demonstration of what the MotionPlus does for you comes from Wii Sports Resort, which has some really nice implementations. In fact most of Sony's demos have been of Wii Sports Resort games, stuff like swordfighting and archery.
Wow - I'm implacable.
Will I instigate? Why? It's intolerable.
Well, it's iffy.
I just think that the motion controlling "fad" is now dying and Sony/MS are betting on the wrong horse. I'm not jumping on that bandwagon at all.
The Wii is fine for my 3 year old kid and that's it. If you look at all the games that came out on the Wii:
- Only Nintendo games are selling
- 3rd party ones are mostly failing
- Most of the software are shovelware
The Wii is a fad. Only Nintendo is making money out of it and now it's going down. There not making (Nintendo) anything original anymore. This is how I personally see it. People bought it because it was "the cool thing to do" like the ipod frenzy thing. Same thing for the DS. Most software is now shovelware and Nintendo is claiming piracy for the cause of lack of sale.
The fact that it was cheaper and more affordable for everyone is a good thing compared to the latest from Sony and Microsoft and I do agree with that. I don't say that better graphic means better game. This is not my point. My point is that motion controller are a fad: we don't need that in most case. It's a fun distraction at the beginning and get on your nerve on the end.
I only use the Wii to emulate other systems anyway, but a little Mario Kart Wii now and then is quite fun. Baby Daisy rules!
I bought it for Smash Bros. Brawl - & that was virtually it.
I wouldn't have bought the GC at all, except it was a birthday present.
I own more than 80 Wii games, and none of them are shovelware. Stuff like No More Heroes, Trauma Center, Baroque, Dead Space Extraction, Umbrella Chronicles, A Boy and his Blob, Klonoa, Mad World, De Blob, Tiger Woods 2010, Little King's Story, the Endless Ocean games, Crystal Bearers, Zak & Wiki, Metal Slug Anthology...
And that doesn't include any Nintendo games like Mario Galaxy, Kart, Brawl, Zelda, Metroid...and quite a bit downloaded on the VC and Wiiware.
There's plenty to love on the Wii and a lot more still coming. It's probably my favorite console, even more than the PS2.
There are a lot of fun titles First and third party, there are also a LOT of crap but that is only natural.
I think when compared to the 360 when it comes down to fun to garbage titles the Wii has the larger selection of fun games, although this can be weighed agents the fact that i don't like First person shooters unless they are really well done and I like RPG's but I do not care for games like The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion or the extramly tedious Dragon Age: Origins
I'm looking forward to Sin & Punishment.
Wario's Indigo Island.
Okay, maybe not, but you could probably come up with Wario and Island.

WorldWar II?
It's funny you suggested that, because originally I didn't look at this thread because I thought the title said something about Word War II (and I just wasn't interested).
Wario's Indigenous Island?
Yeah, or since Wario's insane you could have Wario's Insane Island or something like that.
