I've just copied and pasted this from another forum:
Well, I was selected to do the panel. I'll be up there solo, since no one is attending that's currently doing a game.
Anyway, I was planning to of course talk about my stuff, how I began simple and into more complex games. I was also thinking of talking about some other folks' projects briefly to just showcase them, so the audience could see what's out there. I'd be running all this from my laptop via ROMs.
I'm putting this message out there as I will only show someone's game if said person wants this done. So if you have anything you want me to say, you'll need to let me know.
How about showing off some of RetroUSB's stuff so people can get into the new era of NES gaming and maybe get ome new people into the community possibly?
And thats nice to show off some other people work. Thanks for considering that. I'm sure some people will love to see their stuff demo'd.
I think that if the rom is available on the web, I don't see why you would need to ask permission to show it since it's already public anyway.
But most project are unfinished so maybe some people may do mind after all. Me what I did is nothing special and since it was a proof of concept, I don't know if I will ever finish it someday. You can show it, I don't mind but it doesn't do much
Hmm... it's soon. My game is close to ready to be showcased, but not close enough to be ready for this, sadly.
Thanks for offering, though. Would have to be next time for me, if there is a next time

In response to this... yeah I do have a game rom released in the wild, but I'd rather it not be shown at something like this even if it can already be played by anyone. It's not animated, has no sound/music, most didn't like the controls, and it's a clone. It is always good to ask, for sure.
Feel free to show off LJ65 and Concentration Room.
My game will be revealed to the public by then (I really hope so). You can demo it. If you want, I'll do a write-up on some of my design decisions and the thought process that went into how I did some of the graphics effects (ok, they are cheesy) that I did.
You can show off the beta version of GemVenture (
http://www.pdroms.de/files/2172/download/).
Ask to show SnowBro's & EFX's
Neotoxin!
This is coming up in 12 days. Anything people want to be said/shown will need to be presented to me. I don't know how much I can actually showcase as I really don't know how the full panel will go. At SGC, I mainly talked about my game and took questions, but that was just my game.
I can't answer a lot of questions on behalf of others' projects either, but merely show them.
So... if you want anything to potentially be shown, you need to mention it.
You should talk to bigjt_2. He is going to be there with his Assimilate demo anyway. I'm sure he wouldn't mind a bit of extra publicity.
Well, I dont have anything to showcase, but i'll be there to watch the panel. Met you at MAGFest last year. Are you going to be selling any copies of Battle Kid there this year?

Oh. O_o Definitely just a coincidence.

I hope so. I'm hoping for around 20-30 units with manuals. Depends on how many can be produced and mailed to me by Jan. 12th. No tax or shipping charges, so just $30.
Ah, right, great. I just found your youtube video announcement.

I might be able to contribute a demo ROM of my homebrew. I'll try to get something presentable hammered out this week. I'll get in touch if I make it in time.
For anyone coming to MAGFest, find me during the concerts. I'll be doing live visuals for the bands using a few NES consoles, my own software, and a video mixer.
This is the 4th or 5th year I've been at MAGFest doing visuals - always a great time!
Final notice
If you have anything you want shown, you need to provide me with something. Videos, ROMs, information... anything.
I DO NOT have internet at Magfest and certainly won't be able to do Youtube in the room nor check anything during that time.
Sivak, sent you a rom today.
since the schedule has been changed it looks like im gunna have to miss the panel............

It's at 7pm just like it always was on Thursday. Was there a time when it was not that?
Sivak,
Just looked at the schedule and saw that your panel is at 7pm. I believe I will be able to make that. My game (Assimilate) and Gradualore's (Nomolos) will be on my laptop to showcase. They're providing you with a projector like last year, right? Also, do you want me to meet you outside the panel room a little beforehand to help set up?
when I saw the schedule, it was Friday 10 am... odd.. ill be able to go on thursday.
If you can compare the official Tetris for NES and
LJ65, that might be nice. Same with I Can Remember vs.
Concentration Room, just to show that some people pay attention to detail when it comes to play control.
Thanks for posting these vids. Really cool to see some more of BK2. And thanks for showing my game too.
Really enjoyed these. Thanks a lot for posted them man.
Oh yeah. I also made a recap video.

That's it from me for Magfest.
