I noticed that the forum is very slow on loading. I wonder if it's only me.
It's been fine for me all day.
I too though it was kinda slow earlier, but then again I was on my phone, so it probably didn't have anything to do with the server.
Reviewed system statistics from ~1500-1800 PST. Everything looks completely normal, no anomalies. Reviewed MySQL system statistics during the same time frame -- same, normal. No excessive CPU load, memory I/O, or disk I/O was happening during that time frame. Same goes for our network uplink. I also reviewed periodic traceroutes we run to destinations (none in Brazil though) -- no anomalies with our co-lo provider.
So, chances are what you were witnessing was the unreliability of the Internet (you're still in Brazil, right? :-) ). It happens. There may have been some IP routing convergence issues, or some network links somewhere between you/us were saturated, etc... Believe me, happens all the time (daily).
Thanks for the info. Yesterday, it was terrible.
Looks ok today, no problems.
EDIT: found the cause. It was a problem with a submarine cable.

Yesterday afternoon (28/11) detected a break in the region of Fortaleza in one of our submarine cables, responsible for fast access to sites of our U.S. servers. We do not know the cause of this occurrence, but our staff acted promptly and take corrective action to enable the contingency of our services. As a result, customers Virtua had no interruption in their services and only some users (about 20 percent) are noting that Internet access is a little slower than normal. The final repairs are being implemented and the services will be fully normalized in the day.
