I'm in the very early alpha stages of making my first sidescroller/platformer for the NES called Maus, and while I continue to study asm and the 6502 it would be cool to work on the soundtrack. I downloaded FamiTracker but I'm not used to oldschool trackers and there is only so much you can learn through trial and error. The help file is more or less useless, and of course the most important thing, the page detailing what keyboard keys do what, goes to a friggin Page Not Found. Any idea where I can get this page, or where I can find a more reasonable guide to using this prog? Any help would be MUCH appreciated!
You should be able to use it in a game, the music driver code is avaliable on the webpage. Just mail me if you need any help.
I haven't put much work on the documentation, main priority has been getting the tracker to work decently first. (But the key-page should exist?!)
I would suggest you start with another tracker (like MadTracker or FastTracker) if it's your first time.
I'm not much of a composer, but I think FamiTracker is the best tracker I've ever tried. Learned most of it by trial and error, though, there really isn't much info around. I really would like it to continue improving, I think it is a fantastic tool!
