Just bought a pair of kazzo boards from InfiniteNesLives recently and it got me wondering if I could read a cart with an arduino. It wasn't too hard to get it to the point where it'll dump an nrom cart to a rom that works but now I'm wondering about mapper detection.
Has anybody come up with a set of checks to detect mappers from the cartridge connector that they could share?
There was some discussion of it in a thread about the retron 5 (not the checksum method) and I think I recall InfiniteNesLives was working on it for his kazzo boards. I know about the holy diver batman emulator tests but those run on the NES. I'm a bit too noob to figure out how much those could help here.
Could anybody point me in the right direction if this information is out there somewhere?
