Anybody order one yet?

Looks like the guys at team Neo have a similiar unit with Megadrive/Famicom cart slots as well. I thought I might get theirs. The SNES/NES clone they make works really well.

Huh... I just noticed the neo version has a switch for Orange Juice on the back. Sweet!

The IC used for the Genesis/MD support is undoubtedly the same as in this clone I recently reviewed. http://epicgaming.us/?p=72

There's some audio and picture comparisons there if you want to get an idea of how well it performs.

As for O/J, it has the same switch and it seems to be "Japan/Overseas" or something along those lines. Really, JP/US. Then the other switch is 50/60 Hz. If in 50 hz the JP/US jumper should be ignored.

JP && 50 Hz is the "Asia" region.

What countries in Asia use 50 Hz?... I think Russia and ex-USSR countries use 50hz, I guess that qualifies. But that's more Eastern europe...

iirc. even japan has some weird 50/60hz thing going.

Japan's power grid has 50hz and 60hz segments but the 60 Hz NTSC video standard seems to be universal. Personally I'm in a 50hz area but all Japanese consoles I have purchased in different parts of Japan have had the same US-compatible 60 Hz NTSC output.

China and Southeast Asia use europower and PAL.

Yeah, the "Asia" region was licensed for use in all of Asia except for Japan.
Asian consoles are Japanese with the RGB encoder set for PAL and all Asian games come with the original Japanese manual and a English instruction insert. Later on at the end of the Mega Drive's life, Sega started selling the Asian consoles in Japan (with NTSC output again) and this is sadly all you can get new these days. I don't think there are any exclusive Asian games, but I know lots of people confuse Asian titles for Japanese ones and will buy them thinking they are the rarer Japanese one.

NTSC-J does have a different black level than NTSC though ;)
