Found Pokémon: Alpha Sapphire at a yard sale for $1.

Also picked up Cave Story+ for $7.46 after using a $25 gift card earned from surveys.

These two games arrived in the mail for me today.

Building up my boxed Game Boy collection has been fun, though I'm not going insane or anything. Mostly buying Nintendo and Konami games. Wave Race for Game Boy is a lot of fun, even if it is absurdly hard on the hard mode. A lot of people don't even know the original Wave Race was on Game Boy, or that it came out in 1992, FOUR YEARS before Wave Race 64.

Kirby's Dream Land is in amazing condition, though it's missing the manual. I bought that separately online. Both games are the Canadian variants, though I don't make a special effort to get all Canadian or all American prints. I try to avoid player's choice, though in the case of F-!1 Race I purposely got the player's choice copy since it has a standard size box compared to the original print with the big box. I hate how there always seems to be at least one game in any given set to collect that has some weird box that doesn't fit with the others, so being able to circumvent it in this case is great. That will be arriving some time later, as well as some other things I ordered.

Went out of town for the holiday and hit up about 6 flea markets / gaming stores / pawn shops while the wife was busy doing her thing. A store I hit pretty much every time I go there was having a half-off sale because they had too much inventory. I don't even actively collect NES anymore, but couldn't pass up some of these deals (King Neptune for $45, Maniac Mansion $7, Widget $16.50, Stinger $7, Kiwi Kraze $10, Boulder Dash $6.50, Zanac $2.50, Trojan $3.50). Almost felt like the old days  . I actually still wanted to add Trojan and Boulder Dash to my collection and I'll be keeping them and the shooters as well. Also picked up Kirby's Air Ride for $10 there, SW Battlefront II for $5 and a handful of megaman / tmnt figures just because I rarely see those. The rest of the stuff is just PS2 games I picked up for my set. A lot of them game from a B2G1 free sale at Vintage Stock and I think I averaged about 75% of their market values overall. Nothing of much note, but did get GunGrave and Soccer America for $7 each and Resident Evil Dead Aim for $8.50. Soccer America seems to me to be one of those sleeper titles for the PS2 that will become a heavy hitter if the PS2 ever takes off - just tough to track down, especially with the manual.

Overall, pretty content with my weekend pickups.

Don't think I posted this yet.

$20 for 4 Complete Gameboy games! I never find Gameboy games let alone games that are complete. Battle Unit is missing a tray otherwise these games are 100% complete with everything.

Sweet score of boxed Wave Race and Blades of Steel! Both are great games. I'd recommend you actually play Wave Race, as it's a pretty unappreciated game with a really funny/cruel sense of humour. Completing the World Circuits that come after the National Circuits is really tough. Worth playing through though.

I took advantage of Best Buy's current $75 for any working laptop trade promotion. I traded in my decade-old Dell netbook and got a $75 gift card. My worthless old netbook paid for a copy of Mario Kart DX and re-upping my BB Gamer Unlocked membership.

Here's a verbatim example: "OK, there's Ganon and miniature Ganon and there's these things like jelly beans and the miniature Ganon is more powerfuller, because when you touch him the flying eagles come down and the octopus shoots red rocks and the swamp takes longer." Here's an odd find, a sealed copy of NFL Quarterback 99 bagged with a deck of flash cards hanging off the toy racks at my local Savers.

Today's finds at the local Antique Fleece Market.

For $55, it wasn't too bad. For some reason though, I feel like I could have gotten every thing for $45 but whatever.

About a week ago, I found an eBay seller who's either getting rid of his collection or liquidating an old rental store's inventory, so I picked up a nice set of boxed NES games. Nearly all of them arrived CIB in great shape, and I was able to find a manual to complete the rest. Cost for each (including shipping) was roughly 50-75% of going prices. Naturally, I went back to order a dozen more and make an offer on another three.

After work on Friday, I stopped at a Unique thift store (part of the Savers chain) and found this for $1.99 mixed in with the music CDs.

My gaming/non-gaming pick ups this week. Blackthrone, Ninja, & Silent Hill came from a local Gamestop store. Picked the three up for $51 after sales tax & coupons/pro membership/trade credit. The other stuff were finds from the local Savers over the course of the week, I paid about $20 for everything else.
