Updated! Looks like the best place to live as a collector is in the Ohio/Michigan area. Lucky suckers.

no.  not really.  yeah there's lots of stores, but over saturation isn't a good thing.

I understand that.

Some is better than none.

I have one store within a 2 hour drive.  I'm just a little jealous.

That's the place I sold a CIB Mega Man Game Gear too like 6 years ago when I was young and stupid.  I doubt it's still there, don't all rush over there now.

Anyways eStarland in Fairfax, VA is the only place near by me that I'm aware of.  That's their brick and mortar store, but they have the online site too that most people are more familiar with.

I decided to check this place out this weekend.  All they had was common NES games priced at 15 bucks apiece and SNES sports games for 5 apiece.  I did see some boxes and manuals for some NES games there but none of it that anyone would rave over.

Oh, and it smelled like wet dogs in there.

No thanks.

They're mostly an internet business, but you can go there and buy stuff too. They're really nice and well stocked.

Hi. I live in Shreveport, Louisiana. There's not a lot of retro stores left. EB Games used to sell old cartridges prior to their merger with Gamestop a few years ago. We also had two Replays, one in Shreveport and one in Bossier, but both of those locations went out of business last year. Now Game-X-Change is the only one left. I don't have the address handy, but it's on Texas street in Bossier City, on the outskirts of Pierre Bossier Mall parking lot, in a tiny shopping building with Blue canopies. It's also across the street from Toys-?-Us. If you lived in the Shreveport/Bossier area, you'd know exactly where I am talking about.

They sell used games from all systems ranging from NES to Wii/PS3/Xbox360. They'll even buy and sell other stuff too, when they get it in. There's a tiny pile of ColoceoVision and Atari carts sitting in the bin with the loose controllers. They also sell clone systems, such as Yobo NES, FC twin, Hyperkin's FC Mobile II, and others. No RetroDuos or RetroN 3-in-1s, at least not yet. I'm gonna try to see if they can get the Hyperkin SupaBoy portable SNES in stock whenever it releases, so I can support them by buying locally.

They have a corporate website, Game-X-Change.com, but do not sell games online.

Monkey Punch in Hazard Ky prices are a lil high but for a locally owned business they have a nice selection and are fairly knowledgeable.

Visited that store on my drive through the South. Very limited diversity of games, and the owner/worker told me straight out that if anything good comes in (which he said rarely does) he keeps it and does not sell it.

Well, they aren't exclusively for classic video games but for Arizona..

Bookmans
http://bookmans.com/...

There's a couple stories in Phoenix, one in Flagstaff, and like three in Tucson. The ones I've been to have all had pretty big game sections and I've gotten a lot of NES stuff from them

Zia Records
http://www.ziarecords.com/...

The one in Phoenix that I go to has a pretty good game section, including a surprising amount of older stuff like Atari 2600 games.

And thanks to this thread, I apparently have a couple stores now that I didn't know about...

The employees in the one in Texarkana, Texas do that, too. Luckily, the collector there had a pretty decent handful of good ones, so a few tumbled down to me.

There are a few Disc Replays in Illinois. Ones that I've personally been to and purchased NES/SNES games are in Downers Grove, Countryside, and Orland Park.

In ohio there are Game Depot stores that carry retro games. It's in cities of Lancaster, Circleville, Pickerington, Grove City, Chillicothe, and Hilliard. I'm partial to Game Depot because I work at the circleville store though! Also there is a little store in Lancaster called Pulp Reality. It's my number 2 store!
