Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week’s game is going to be Track & Field.  Here are the rules:

  • Play on Mode A
  • You must start at the 100m event
  • Play until Game Over
  • If you roll the score (high score cap at 999,990), take a picture right after you rolled it and continue your run (your score reset to 0). Repeat the process if you roll it more than once.
  • Use of turbo controllers is strongly forbidden
  • Highest score wins
  • GENRE: Sports

The contest ends Sunday, 11/29/15 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

Edit/Update: For anyone that doesn't break the 50k default high score, you can get your final score by waiting for the demo loop to start and then taking your picture.

Ah shit, I thought we were just playing the 100m. I'll have to give this another go.

If you start a new game your high score is still saved...

That works for the players that beat the default 50k high score, but anyone that scores under 50k can only see their final score during the demo loop.

I hope to have time to actually play this week... halfway through a move. It's a local move, but I'll be damned if hauling 1000+ carts any distance isn't always a logistical pain-in-the-ass. Hope to be back and setup by Turkey day if all goes well!

I think the person with the fastest 100m this week should get 6 bonus points in the sports standings. What do you think Doug?

That would be an awfully big bonus. Isn't my sports genre lead big enough already?

That motherf'n Tyson bonus!!!

I played this game for 45 mins on Sunday night and I got 2 blisters on my index finger. I'm gonna wrap that bitch up and go for 100m gold! I just hope nobody walks in on me and sees me playing because my face looks like I'm either shitting my pants or masturbating with sand paper.

Yeah, this game isn't easy on the hands. My thumb popped like someone cracking their knuckles when I was playing this afternoon. My face was beet red too, so I figured that I'd better give it a rest. I seem to have peaked score wise for the most part, so I'll probably take a bit of a break for the next few days.

09:25 (100m), come get some.

I burned right through the Elsa band-aid I put on my finger.

The triple jump is my favorite event I must say. My best distance so far is 21m19.

The TG record for the 100m dash is 7.87 seconds. The same guy has the points record at 3,194,200 so he must really go through Band Aids!

I like the archery event best myself. Probably because it's one of the few that doesn't kill my thumbs.

This game makes my arm hurt.

Has anyone managed to approach or pass the javelin world record?  I've gotten to about 94m before, but can't get any closer than that no matter how hard I try.

Nope. The closest that I've gotten was 90m.

I think I'm going to post some scores for fun this week. I'm in the mood for some Track n' Field and my fingers are ready for a little pain

By the way, if anyone roll the score, it is best to take a picture right after rolling it so we can keep track of where in the game it was done.

If anyone rolls the score, their arm will probably be in a cast for the rest of the year. My hand is more sore this morning than it was yesterday after I stopped playing!

I checked the TG record for the javelin throw and it's 124m! I don't know what I'm doing wrong either, but that's just mind blowing.
