Good job man! This game is tough if you havent played it alot. Takes awhile to get into a groove with this type of game.

ok, so this item pops up from time to time..is it a strawberry or carrot. I say carrot since it has an orange hue and horizontal lines. But, I could be totally wrong since you only collect fruit throughout the game.

I always thought it was a carrot.  Strawberries are more well rounded and less sharp at their bottom tip.

Back in 2011, I wanted to do a romhack of this game, but eventually never released it. I beat this 3 times (with continues of course) but I still got quite good at this.
I got as far as LVL 3-2 or 3-3 (don't remember exactly which one). Thanks god for the bonus zone in LVL 3-1

You're getting way too close to my score lol. The levels after 3-1 are pretty freaking tough. On the score i posted i lost my last life to the boss of 3-4 (the cyclops dude) stinks if i could have knocked him ou it would have been another 5K !

Horrible puns aside, I've got a question.  What exactly is the deal with the red Famicom controller that appears after you kill a coyote?



Sometimes they appear like clockwork when I bury a hatchet or fireball into one of these bastards' skull, other times they don't show up at all.  What gives?  Are any of you experiencing something similar?

The red famicom controller appears and give you 1,000 points. But it will only appear if you kill the coyote AFTER he runs passed you. For example if you kill him behind you it will not appear. So you gotta jump em, then hit em in front of ya to get the sweet fami 1k points.

However watch out for the jumping ones, they almost always get you if you jump first.

Thanks for the comment.  You're right, I haven't played this alot.  I'm no where near as good as you are in this game, but I'm really getting into it.  I'm doing a couple runs a day, and am hoping before the end of this I can crack 100,000.  The key word is "hoping".

The farther I get, its becoming more of a mystery about the floating platforms.  It's hard to tell which ones move vertical, horizontal, free fall, or just stay stationary when you get to new ones.

Finally!  Been trying all week to get a run going and kept making a bunch of mistakes.  Made it to 7-1 with a few lives in reserve and blew them all on the last section.  Was so excited to get past that stupid springboard jump over the eggplant that I ran too fast after (I'm usually low on health after this point).  After that, my other lives were quickly dispatched, thanks to having no weapon. 

Tip about coyotes: The ones from light colored flowers never jump.  For the ones from dark flowers, turn and attack them and they'll jump over you.  In either case, kill them when they're on your right to make the "Fanicom controller" appear for 1000 points!

Done playing for the week, as I'm travelling.  Great scores so far.  Keep 'em coming!

YES! I got to LVL 4-1 this time! Also, you should know where the bonus zones are because they can give you massive points! Too bad I lost nearly all my lives on LVL 3-3! This one's a pain in the butt.
Also, the coyotes come when you pass a flower. Shoot them from behind for the famicom bonus (1000). Watch out for flowers with red leaves! It indicates the coyote will jump. And I mean jump VERY high
