Been meaning to post this for a while.

There (was?) a Marvel VS Capcom Infinite tournamount that was announced. With prize money and trophies. But I'm writing this because its the twist in the tournamount that interested me.

Theres real stones. And the can change the tournamount.
Theres 6 Infinity stones; Space, soul, time, power, mind and reality. If you win a qualifying tournamount you're given a stone that can be used IN the event! Heres What each does:

SPACE: The Space Stone allows the Stone Bearer to swap their position in the bracket, and face a different opponent! The position must be in an equal place in the tournament.

SOUL: The Soul Stone allows the Stone Bearer to erase one of their losses in a 3 out of 5 set.

TIME: The Time Stone allows the Stone Bearer to cease the flow of time, enabling them to negate the use of an opponent’s Stone Bearer power any time during the tournament for one match!

POWER: The Power Stone allows for the Stone Bearer to land the first hit in a match, giving them a guaranteed life advantage over their opponent by executing the first combo of a match.

MIND: The Mind Stone allows the Stone Bearer to control their opponent’s mind by choosing both of their characters and Infinity Stone.

REALITY: The Reality Stone grants the Stone Bearer the ability to alter reality by swapping three button functions in their opponent’s control configuration.

Any of these can sway the playing field. My question, what do you think of a tournamount like this, and which stone is the best to have?

Sounds like a really fun concept. I look forward to watching how it all plays out.

I'm not one for fighting games, but I could see those stones really messing with people. If I had to pick one, I'd take the Reality Stone. You get to swap three button functions? That would mess up any gamer! Imagine trying to play SMB with the A and B buttons swapped. That would be rough enough, but in a fighting game based on combos and quick reactions, you're not going to think about your buttons--you've already got them logged into your muscle memory. Now someone gets to mess that up? That's game-breaking.

I would pick reality too. That's such a dick move it's beautiful. As a balrog player who loves using TAP (turn around punch, all 3 punches or kicks held down) i would be thrown off having to do it any other way. All the gems are evil!

I already had very low interest on competitive MvC and this just kill it all.
What a stupid concept that will just screw everything up. Power stone is awfully OP because there are always infinite/100% combos at MvC games. UMvC3 2017 EVO finals were sleep inducing because of that.
Mind stone is stupid and pretty much guarantees you a win. Reality isn't that OP. You can adapt easily and fast at that situation.

I am sticking with my SSF2:T, SF IV and SFV thank you.
