The small amount of randomness might only occur with a straight down the middle break and not when breaking from an angle. I also don't change the distance.
From what I am seeing, it depends on the stage it gives you.
If you start from a fresh boot, it will always behave the same way, but after you reset once, it changes the background scenario and starts the seed with a different value. But even then, the amount of starting seed values seem to be limited.
There was about 10 different spreads after the break from my tests. I ran about 100 breaks.
Since I always start fresh from a system boot, my angles calculations are unchanged and I can pocket the balls 100% of the time with those numbers.
