I hope you donned your best James Earl Jones voice and replied, "Yes, my master."

Not that it will make you feel any better, but I had a similar reaction when I checked the Twin Galaxies website after posting my latest score and realized that I had just beaten the current world record of 67,200 and all I have to show for it is a screenshot.

Edit: I guess that really won't help since your 68,500 would have beaten my current score by 1200 points...ouch.

That seems pretty low for a world record. My run I no crashed it until the second leg of 8, and as you know you can only crash once there and you better burn it the rest of the way and hope you roll across the line.

Of course for the past 2 hours I've just been pissing myself off more, being too aggressive and crashing on track 2 or 3. 2 or 3! Time for a break for a couple days.

Upped and updated my score by like 12K. I think if I had more time I could definitely do better, but I doubt I will be able to play anymore this week. Maybe I will get lucky and 46K will keep me in the top 10.

Yeah, I was expecting the record to be 70k+ when I looked it up. I'm still trying to no crash it myself, but I'm pressing too hard and I've been struggling just as bad since I posted my last score. It seems like the burnout is starting to set in for me after spending several hours a day over the past 5 days playing nothing but the same game over and over.

Speaking as someone who up until a few days ago had never even finished the first course, I understand how you feel. Making it through the first 3 courses is definitely not easy (at least not to me) and it is still an accomplishment.

Thanks!  I completely agree.  It was definitley a struggle.  My friends and I spent roughly six hours taking turns and going at this game.  Up until that point, I had barely ever even played the game.

First score.  Sorry for the delay guys, we had no power for like three days.  This is my first go.  Been awhile, but decent starting score.  Had this course and got too careful near the end, should have gunned it more.  We going to see a tally of the current high scores?

Updated to 67,059, so darn close. I can beat this over and over but can't replicate my perfect run that I couldn't capture. I least I know the score I need to be at by the end of level 5 to take the lead here now (since levels 6-8 are more about finishing then scoring).

Totally go for a TG submit Doug and Luke

Don't forget to record 15 seconds of dead space before and after you power the console on/off.

And BTW, there are plenty of other NES games that don't even have a single score.

This was me earlier in the week. Took a break from it yesterday. Planning on playing the crap out of this tonight after I get off work. Going for first place!

67,263. That's beating the game and pretty much crushing the first 5 levels.

That's something I've really never thought about doing before so I'm not familiar with how the process works. Do you still have to submit your run on a VHS tape?

That seems to be my best strategy. I try to score as high as possible on the first 6 tracks so that I can play it safe on the last two since there no real margin for error on those (especially the last course).

Eh,not a big fan of TG or the whole process. Kudos to anyone who submits scores....it's just not something I'm interested in. I know I'm a good player at certain games and don't need acknowledgement from others verifying it. Whether you submitted a score or not,we all know you're an awesome Rad Racer player. I'm just hoping I can overtake your score.....hopefully by tonight. =)

I'm not sure I can do much more. To get another 500-1,000 you have to have that one lucky run.

I just came this close to getting my lead back. If I could have made it through the last track without crashing I should have ended up with about 67,600 but I got sideswiped off the track about halfway through. I guess I have my work cut out for me, but at least there's still two more days left.
