We know for sure we are having an all day NA NWC contest, that is a given.  What else do you guys want to see and do?  There will most likely be a Smash Contest and a Mario Kart one as well, but we are open to suggestions.  We need a few nice events so toss out your ideas   After all, bragging rights last forever!

WE NEED CHATTER FOLKS

We need:
-- Ideas
-- Games/Systems/TV's (we already have a few, but any bit extra helps!!)
-- Volunteers for 1 hour blocks to set up the video game itself (I'll be doing pairings in a laptop, no need to know about tournament brackets or anything)

WE NEED VERY SMALL THINGS FROM EVERYONE to make this a success. If you're a visitor, think to yourself - what do you want your convention to be like? A big yard sale, or an active community with competition, cheering and prizes?

Hm...NA NWC contest sounds interesting... I scored a personal best 4.49 million the other day. What systems are already guaranteed to be there and set up (other than NES and SNES...we already know those will be there )?

I see... I might bring along a Dreamcast...we could have a bit of a shooter competition with it (I have Chaos Field, Karous, Trizeal, Trigger Heart Exelica, and Ikaruga).

We're looking for solid commitments, guys. Ideas are great, but if you have the potential to bring a dreamcast, a TV, or volunteer an hour, please make it known.

MB and nofriendo, there will be a wii with SSBB and Mario Dash as Jason mentioned. We're looking for exciting games for the PS3 and 360 though, if anyone can pledge at least to bring one of those, and/or a game, we'll definitely have interest from the locals.

The big advantage to these tournaments is we won't be attracting national champions or anything. There will be very minimal prizes (really, just for fun and fundraising) and only 1-2 weeks of advertisement so you can expect some fun kid competition. It's to be enjoyed.

Just keep these things in mind and sign yourself on!

I talked to some of my friends locally and rounded us up some staff for sure for some of this stuff. I have a guy running the swap meet for us, and my friend Matt said he is def. game to run some competitions as well.

I'm up for helping out setting up or volunteering an hour of my time to keep punks in line or what have you. Otherwise, I'll just be wandering around blowing my money all day, and nobody wants that. Well, okay, only I don't want that.

Ok, looking for someone to run a Chunkout 2 competition. A special edition Chunkout Champion cart is headed over to NGD for the winner. Need a TV + NES for a few hours, and someone to keep track of the high scorers.

I want one...guess I'll have to practice up at this one, as well (I haven't even had the chance to play it just yet :/ )...  At 4.49 million on the NWC, I won't say I'm fully prepared, but it might be enough.

I definitely suggest a Smash Bros tournament and getting it posted on the top Smash Bros forums ASAP. You'll be amazed how many will show for that tournament if you get on that ASAP>

Do we need another NES? I can bring mine if we don't have enough. And I don't mind running Zzap's contest if no one else has volunteered yet.

This is a fair suggestion but I'd rather not have wringers show up... I was just thinking it would be fun to have a cheap tourney that people could play in with a chance to win a bit of $ that were already attending the expo.

If someone that's already going to be there is a master, so be it, more power to them. But I've seen some of the top guys. Just no fun to have that kind of person show up.

bullsh*t jumpan i say you bring it :-D i'm down for going one on one  - but if you're good it should make for a good match ... I can't bring the top smash player down with me, but I'd say I'm one of the top players on this game ... we should play ...

Well, it sounds like we need a Super Smash Bros. for N64. I'll bring my 64, 2 controllers, and the game. If someone can bring a TV I'll run this contest for an hour of the Expo.

Heh, Ant, I 100% guarantee that I will kill you. Very literally, I have been playing this game, probably on average an hour a day, for the past 8 years. I'm very up for the challenge, though.
