Man, Adventure Island is fun, but it's so much tougher than AI2. I haven't played it that much, but I haven't even made it past the first world yet.

At least you still beat my honorary score by 750 points!   There were some really impressive scores this round so I probably would've gotten knocked out too even with a full week of practice.

 

Well, all that matters is that I beat you dougie.  I had time to play twice, and it showed.  No excuse, and there were some very impressive scores.  I went and saw Shinedown and Five Finger Death Punch Saturday night instead of playing NES.  My bad...

This week will probably be the end of the road for me. I've always sucked at AI games, and I've never even played the first one.

Yep. I have no experience with this game and it is notoriously difficult.


 

I got sniped  

I'm sorry about that.  I really did get that score on my final attempt.  About an hour and a half before that attempt I got a little over 420K and I would have posted that one instead, just to have a score over 400K, if I didn't play out of my mind in the final one.  It was just a matter of getting that extra perfect.

I only played about five times yesterday afternoon, but I doubt that I would've gotten a score high enough that would've qualified for the finals even with a full week of effort given that 483,480 was the cutoff point. I probably could get 350k+ on a good attempt, but that's about it.

I can't say that I'm surprised at the scores given how good our players are, but I'm definitely impressed!

Since Palamedes is a popular game with bimmy, and has a pretty good chance of being on the 2017 slate, I will sell my secrets when the time comes to the highest bidders. I take payment in the form of commons I don't have

Drat. I forgot to complain about how terrible my AI score was so your prediction would be 100% true.  
 

This is one of my new favorites that I've discovered thanks to the contests. I really like this one. It's a puzzle game that is more action oriented and more forgiving than other puzzle games on the system.

I've been practicing two or three times a day for the last few days to see how well I can do playing level 1 difficulty. Thus far my best is 14 perfects and a score of around 717k (just trying for perfects, no combos). I want to be ready for the next Palamedes contest!

One of my favorite puzzle game on the system too, and I discovered it through the contest back then like you.

It's a terrific "pick up and play" game that also has that addictiveness where you have to keep trying to top your high score.

I just tried once again and could only get 14 perfects. That 15th perfect is a real toughie.
