So sales (mp3) have started to decline for my last album and I'd like to approach the idea of carts for my music. seeing as I can't even get my background nametable to a rom, I'm accepting my programming stupidity and looking for experienced hands.

The simplest plan would be a cart of nsfs. I'd like to put the actual album cover on the screen as the music plays, along with left/right for prev/next songs. (something like http://no-carrier.com/index.php?/... using nesst right now for my graphics and can do the basics for the splashscreen/album pic.  I'm not afraid to solder/de-solder, do the heavy lifting as far as assembly, but I have no idea what to get as far as doners or new carts/boards/chips.

I'd like to press all 5 albums and would like to keep the cart program consistant with each other, for aestetics as well as ease, changing only the album cover as the cart plays. Willing to pay programmer with credit/cart and % of sales.

Would this be something you're interested in?

Man, that sounds like a super cool offer and an awesome project. Wish I could help with more than moral support. Good luck!

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at the Let's Play Gaming Expo last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Oh, my WTB thread is very popular. The sportos, the motorheads, geeks, sluts, bloods, wastoids, dweebies, Richard craniums - they all adore it. They think it's a righteous thread.
I'd also like to add that I've got my father's gun and a *scorching* price guide for aftermarket Nintendo games.
Between Dragon Warriors and nothing... I'll take Dragon Warriors - for any of my FT/FS/FO items.

Cool project. Good luck!

Have you looked into whether all 5 albums can fit on a single cartridge (or some number fewer than 5 cartridges, total)?

It would be a bit of a trade-off for time and profit, but might let you focus on a nicer final product with way less of a manufacturing/time commitment.

I think that is what he is planning to do.

It might be worth talking to Rainwarrior. I believe he had a special mapper made with infiniteneslives.

Finally mashing my way through the grind today, music was great zi! I've got money in hand waiting for your albums on cart. I think it's a great idea and wish I could help, but I don't have any experience to offer.

OK.  I guess I misread his post as putting each album on a cartridge.

Hmmm reading it again, it seems like you may be correct.  It sounds like he wants to make a set of 5.

Yeah.  Which is why I was suggesting the single compilation, if possible.

Basically, I figure he could probably sell more "albums" if the barrier to entry was $30-$40 versus 5x that amount (on the customer side).

So his compensation for his actual music composition might be higher.

it's insanity! that's what it is! Insanity!!!!

yes, I'm dreaming big (why not?) and looking to put all 5 albums on carts. I HOPE to roll any earnings from silicon statue to make the next, etc., etc, etc. and etc. My biggest prob right now for the rom is compiling the 74 instruments in 10 songs down to fami's limit of 40 instruments (mostly it's replacing the same instruments for "bass" and some drum kit items)! oh man, just wait until I gotta try to import mmls into fami for breakout hit album Fie. I have so much complaining ahead of me! I'm pretty sure Mauer pressed 250 carts for each in the vegavi series. see what I did there? great.

I've got my best Rom guy on the case and a cutting edge chip writer/cart assembly genius so the only thing that's holding me up is me. well, and work. insanity.

If you have a programmer helping, you shouldn't have to change your songs. When I needed a compilation player with Famitracker, I changed it's replay code to support an instrument set per song. If it helps, I could share it. There's not much to it. But it's for whatever version Famitracker was 5 years ago. Probably would work in the newer version, I'd have to look into it.

Some of us are fake programmers who don't know what we're doing.
