Here is a picture of my Zelda Watch Proto from Nelsonic. If you look close (and compare it with an actual zelda watch) the screen is not digital, instead, it is just a moc of what it would look like if it was on. The buttons are hard plastic. As you can see, it looks like it was a final production proto.

Finally got around to updating the list.  There are some formatting issues that could be addressed, but I'll do that a bit later.

I have this posted over in the NES prototype section.

If anyone notices any errors, or has since sold/traded a prototype please feel free to let me know.

Oh, that totally counts.  I'm going to throw it under the NES prototype section though.  Although it's not necessarily an NES prototype, I still think it counts.

If you'd prefer it here just let me know.

Hell yeah!  I always like seeing stuff like that.  Any back-story/history on these?

Nope. They came up cheap, I grabbed them. The fact that they are NIS titles had a bit to do with my desire for them

No sweat, I will get some photos up soon. The differences appear to be tiny... such as grammatical errors and such. I did a checksum comparison of the individual files on the beta/proto versus an actual released version. A *lot* comes up different, however I am still tracking down most of what exactly was changed. Spectral Souls has one difference that is easily noticeable since it happens at the beginning of the game.

As promised

There they be in all their glory. I've made little stands for 'em so they look sharp in my display shelving.

As for differences... here's one from Spectral Souls

Retail Disc

Retail Disc

Proto/Beta Disc

Proto/Beta Disc

("...retaliated and..." versus "...retaliatedand...")

Like I said, mostly grammatical and spelling errors... the stuff you'd expect them to spend time (and test discs) to track down and correct.

^ Very nice...I can't recall ever seeing any Albert Odyssey protos previously. I'd almost say I'd be an interested buyer if you were to sell, but I'd not have a clue for what to offer (and my wallet and my fiancee would kill me ).

Yeah Saturn protos in general are pretty tough compared to PS2 for example which are out there by the thousands. As stated in the letter these didn't come from a magazine but from someone who worked on the game. I don't think copies were sent to the mags which might explain why you haven't seen one before.

I am in talks with someone on another board about these very same protos but he has to raise the cash and you know how that usually turns out. If you want to make an offer you know where to find me. I have thousands of disc based protos I'd be willing to unload this time of year.

I've a fairly large lot inbound to me (that would increase my proto count from 26 to 71)...I'll post when it arrives.
