Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the Weekly Contests!  This week's game is going to be Ski or Die.  Here are the rules:

• Play in Compete Mode (Register your name on the clipboard)
• You must play Downhill Blitz, Snowboard Half-Pipe, Snowball Blast, and Inner-Tube Thrash
• Add all four scores together to get your final score
• Take a picture of all four scores on the High Scores menu
• Highest score wins
• Participation: 10,000
• GENRE: Sports

The contest ends Sunday, 6/24/18 at 11 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be written or typed on a piece of paper and be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, slow motion functions, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

Snowball Blast is more Operation Wolf which is a good thing! I barely have any idea what I'm doing in the other events.

I did the acro aerials just for fun. Like you MBD39, I have no clue what to do really. This was my first time playing this title and it was actually pretty fund, but that downhill blitz is really annoying.

I recommend pulling up the manual online.

I'm not a huge fan of the gameplay in this one, so I doubt that I'll try for a higher score. I like how two of the events are basically Toobin' and Operation Wolf. (The latter is a funny coincidence because we just played that.)

Gonna play this tomorrow at work. I remember trying it out a while back when a CIB passed through my hands and being more than unimpressed so don't expect any magic from me this week

I like how it's called Ski or Die and there's only one skiing event.

I guess it's a better title than "Ski, Snowboard, Race Inner Tubes and Throw Snowballs or Die."

They should have just called it Snow Day.

And I forgot the Acro Aerials because we aren't doing that event.



 

The graphics/animation in Innertube Thrash are so bad that it affects gameplay. I have issues making out whether I'm correctly positioned to stab my opponent or whether my pathetic character animation is even stabbing him (other than by the inflation indicator at the bottom). It feels so awkward.

I'm constantly wiping out in the downhill skiing because I can barely control it.

The halfpipe and snowball events aren't as bad.

I have no idea how I got my 2013 inner tube score of over 13,000. That event kills me.

I've made particpation already and I gotta say this game is growing on me. There is a high ceiling for points with enough skill as it should be with an extreme sports game.
