I never could get a perfect on stage 8 and the puzzle part.... Forget it, I was hopeless.

I'm also gunning for third place. It's a competition for third place!

I could only get five perfects then I had to rely on combos.

Adventure Island is probably about as hard as Battletoads and unfortunately I hadn't already been practicing it for weeks like with Battletoads, so I'll probably not even make third place. I'll try.

This is going to be hard.  I'm going to have to rewire my brain for a week to direct smack towards someone who isn't skinny.  Here goes



You guys are too kind.  I agree that the 1st place Trophy cart will look great next to the NA Fantasy Football trophy cart I'm also bringing home this year.  My trophy cart cup overfloweth

You guys are going to understand why Adventure Island is the final week game. The award will be attributed through common platform skill, sure, but mainly through dedication. The guys that will work the most on their score will likely win.

Well like Richard I've also been playing it non-stop since Wednesday. 7-1 ain't got nothing on me  

Of course I was also banking on Richard's elimination because he was resting on his laurels, but I guess I can do the dirty work myself

 

The grinder would have won this year. 

 

I wish you wouldn't have told me this. I could get seven perfects with my eyes closed but getting combos. Forget about it. 
 

I know in a prior tournament finals you beat Rush n Attack in a low score contest. I've never even made it past level two in that stupid game.

 

I feel like I'm better at platformers than shoot em ups.

that rush n attack week is probably one of the most impressive things I've accomplished on an NES game. 

 

You also almost beat Battletoads in a few days. It's probably impossible to beat that game in a week because of all the memorization required. You came pretty damn close though.

I don't want to have to figure out where the bonus areas are, where all the stage pots are and how to finish stages carrying an eggplant for extra 5K points.  

 

Looks like all three tiers are getting 1 life only, high score. Now this is a party.

1 life, highest score wins... I will have to bother with secret areas, pots and eggplants. Bah.
