I'm still on for my goal to hit over 700k, and I came pretty close on my last attempt yesterday (the score I posted last), so I'm hoping to achieve it, even if it doesn't give me the win for the week.

Guys, remember to edit your original post with updated photo's. It makes it a hell of a lot easier if each participant only has 1 picture submission, not 4 posts with updated scores.
Thanks a ton!

I would think its more work to keep tabs on previous posts. You know when you've seen a new post so you can continue where you last saw from. Just my $.02

What I usually do is start a new post with an updated score, but edit the pic and score out of the old one...is that harder for bimmy?

That's a pretty good idea. A best of both worlds scenario. I would like to see what Kevin thinks as well. Whatever makes it easier for him, I'll do. No need to add more work for someone who already does more than enough for us.

From his initial rule thread
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/...

"Posting Scores

- In order to submit a score for the contest, take a picture of your score with your user name in the picture. Your user name MUST be in the picture or the score will be invalid.
- When posting a new score, please begin your post by typing out your score. Larger font (18pt) preferred.
- If you are posting an updated score, please edit your initial post with the new photo and score. You can still create a separate new post as a bump to notify you edited your score if desired."

I think the idea is the less pictures the better.

Finally got my act together and broke 300K. Getting a lot better at the high combos on the early levels and need to practice my endurance on the higher levels. Awesome scores so far...

I got a question concerning combos. I have been practicing the first three-four levels over and over trying to amass a big score going into the second half (being levels 5 through 10 in my mind). I have been able to get about 50,000 after the fourth round. Anyway, I am at the point where I can consistently get 4,500 points in round 1 unless I get a bad set up, which for me is two of the same color over each other. A small gap is doable, but large ones I don't know what to do. My question is: is there a way to combo a same color virus directly underneath?

-------------------------
I am searching for the following SNES manuals:
- Sunset Riders    - TMNT IV: Turtles in Time      - Total Carnage
- Utopia                 - Final Fantasy II
Please PM me if you have one or all of them for sale. While I like nice condition, I am interested in anything 7/10ish up.

Go from the sides for the ones of the same color that are underneath that you can't just stack the colors on top.

Crabmaster - NICE SCORE! You bastards are going to really make me work for this one

Ricky - that's enough out of you!

I'm having trouble with just the basic strategy of setting up combos. I think a lot of it though is that I had no experience with Dr. Mario prior, so I keep playing it more like Tetris. I probably need to sit down and take a hard look at it with a few colored sticky notes away from the game to get a better handle of the mechanic - but I probably won't be able to get around to it by the time the round ends.

I'm in the same boat, although I'm getting better at the combos. But at some point all that goes out the window and I revert back to just trying to clear the level.

I prefer if there's one picture per person because when I update the leaderboard at the end of the contest, I scan the thread for pictures, and when I see one, I stop and check the score.  It helps me collect all the scores a little bit quicker.  Although, for those who have more than one picture in here, it is cool to see how you guys have bettered your scores throughout the week.

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

"Wait...Bimmy and Jimmy??  How'd they make a mistake like this!?  Bimmy isn't even a real name!"

Gotcha Kevin. I'll go remove all my other photos as this is going to be my last attempt (at least I'm pretty sure). This game took me just over 2 and a half hours.
