So I've been working on a Starfox 2 cart for awhile and it's been a rough ride! I've had one cart die on me so far since I didn't solder the wires correctly, I have another and i'm working currently, I'm just preparing the cart. I don't have a UV EPROM Eraser yet, I'm thinking of how to acquire one, build one using a simple circuit or buying one off of ebay?

I built my own, but there are some cheap Chinese ones you can get.

Really, there's nothing to it - a UV eraser is nothing more than a UV tube in a box that can be sealed up so the UV doesn't get out. Better ones have timers, since you don't want to expose the EPROM too long.

I went overboard and built mine with a digital timer, VFD display, and a keypad. And a drawer to load EPROMs, and a long tube so I can do like 20 of 'em at once.

But a small, cheap one will do the same thing. Just do whatever you're more comfortable with, or willing to spend money on.

Alright, thanks for the heads up!

Here's what I got so far for the PCB.

Don't strip the wires so far - you're going to have to be *really* careful not to short those together when you start soldering on the EPROM. Also, looks like you're having problems getting the solder to flow - what kind of solder are you using?

beware of the chinese ones. Certain ones have a very distinct smell to them that do not come off (because of where the plastic was made)

FYI

I'm using very thing solder, I think it's about 0.1mm thick. It's my first time working with SNES Cart Boards so I'm a bit rusty when it comes to soldering.
