Talked someone down on Craigslist to pick this bad boy up for $25.

Almost broke my hand carrying down the stairs into my basement when I tripped over a pillow and dropped my side to the ground.

What a difference though! The picture and sound quality are just great! After playing on a much older CRT or a much newer LCD, this is where its at!

32" WEGA - KV-32FS120

(The pictures don't do the screen quality justice)

Very nice! I use an older Trinitron (not flat) and I love it. Much better than most.

Great score! That's the one we got new in 2004 and it's still our main television. Games, movies, TV, everything. Except for the crazy high-end flatscreens nothing beats these for me.

So guys, is this TV recommended as the best for retro games? I have a good flatscreen but I admit retro games look pretty bleh on it.

Awesome score. You did mean to make a blockbuster video reference, right?

Any CRT will be better than a flat screen, but the Trinitron/WEGA are notorious for their good quality.

I use a 20" Toshiba flat screen CRT and a Sony PVM and they're both great (can't beat RGB on a PVM though)

This one is in my area, because I don't know much about these tvs, what do you guys think? I'm pretty sure it's the same TV that the OP mentioned but a bit bigger?

I've got a 36" WEGA and there are two things that one should consider before getting one: a) it weighs close to a million pounds and is designed to be impossible to carry without almost breaking your limbs, and b) I would say that going up to 36 starts to make things a bit more jagged as far as pixels go when you are seated close to it, but goddamn it's a beautiful picture, so perhaps plan to be sitting further than 8 feet away from the screen if possible. I'm super glad I found the tv I have for the steal I got it for ($40 is not bad either!) but it has made me consider going back down to 32" for the limited space I have in my house.

Not just Trinitron but I think Sony makes the best TVs all-around. Congrats and welcome to the best CRT picture ever.

If you have the space, and I mean consider that that thing could be 24" deep, I say hell yeah.
If you don't have a moving dolly, get one for moving it through your house.

Are all of the Trinitron TV's good or is there certain models that are better then the rest? I'm looking to upgrade my 2nd set that houses my NES and SNES system.

Now I'm not expert, but I believe that you want to look out for the WEGA model Trinitrons. Also, apparently the FS120 are the better models.

Ah, so you found the secret room, eh? Bask in the glory of a Mario Trilogy, a Pair of Zeldas and a Sextet of Megamans. Yes this is the little grey box that could and continues to do. What lies ahead is entirely up to you. YOU DECIDE

Are your guys Sony Trinitron/Wega TV's flat or round CRTs? I've been looking for a good replacement CRT after my Commodore 1702 has been crapping out lately, but want one that's lightgun compatible.
