Old aunts used to come up to me at weddings, poking me in the ribs and cackling, telling me, "You're next." They stopped after I started doing the same thing to them at funerals.

Thank you! I'm looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hey, we should put our screen names on the name tags as well That'd be cool, we can just marker them in so I can try to remember who every1 is after I come home!

Thor, I'm an old diehard NES player and actually remember seeing you back in one of the mags of the day (Gamepro or EGM probably) advertising games for Camerica. I have a couple questions if you don't mind answering them (and they have nothing to do with nude pics).

Did Camerica pay you well to help sell their games? I'm guessing they probably didn't just pay you with a library of games like Firehawk and Dizzy and a bunch of Game Genies.

Also, did Nintendo of America ever try to rope you in to become a game counselor? To be honest, that was my dream job when I was younger.

Thanks,
Adam

Holy Adaml... nice to see a really old face finally make it over here! I revere you man... hope you stick around NA and contribute to the forums.

-------------------------

My mantra, as worded by SamSpade on 06/12/12:
I don't resell to fund my collection, I don't treat this hobby like a second job, I don't care if my collection is worth ten bucks or ten thousand because I never plan on selling it. Seriously, what does the value have to do with anything if you never plan on selling? Speculation doesn't mean jack shit to me at this point, I just want to play my nes games...

Hey Dr. Morbis, it's good to see a familiar face around here!  I'll have to look through the forums and see if there is anything useful I can add.  I had read on lostlevels.org that Thor Aackerlund was here and was curious enough to check it out.

I did check out the homebrew section and the fact that someone is thinking about making an NES Hellraiser piqued my curiousity, but that would be quite the undertaking.

See you around,
Adam

Damn, feels great to be welcomed here. I feel like I hijacked Thor's thread though.

Good to see all of you here...Ms. Clawful, Dain, NGD, Morbius, frogman...I've seen some of your posts Ridley and feel like I now you already.

Now maybe I will hear from Thor, unless he's out philandering or something

Hi guys!

Sorry, I've been buried under a mountain of work, but I am eking out some time now to rejoin my friends here at NA! Adam, welcome to NA! As per your question, yes I did have a financial agreement with Camerica that wasn't bad IIRC, but I never knew the details of it. My dad handled it all, for better or for worse.

Hmm. Yeah, I never had anything to do with any of my 'quotes'. Some of them are so off-the-wall that it's unintentionally hilarious.

I haven't kept up with any of the other NWC players. Would like to, many of them were great people. I know from various sources that Rich kept practicing with the NWC thing, improving his score for whatever reason. I never saw the point, as Nintendo didn't see fit to repeat the NWC for whatever reason. I took a look at the Campus Challenge and 'Powerfest' competitions that happened later on, but they were absolutely pathetic in comparison of scale. It would have been awesome if Nintendo had continued the same 30-cirty massive tour on a yearly or bi-yearly basis.
