Originally posted by: joneboneSo I tried to beat Rampart and quit after 2 hours or so. Pretty annoying. Then I pick up Ninja Gaiden and little did I know what I was in store for.
I breeze all the way through the first 5 acts and tell my GF to come over because I thought I was almost done now. I get to act 6-2 and quite an unpleasant surprise when the difficulty goes from challenging to over-the-top "break your controller" absurdity. After dying way too many times I finally leave the game paused and go out to a party for the night.
So I wake up around 11:00 this morning and unpause the game determined to beat it. I finally clear 6-2 thinking thank god that is behind me. Make it to get the boss and die. Guess what? BACK TO STAGE 6-1 EVEN THOUGH I HAD LIVES LEFT. Seriously, what kind of shit is that? So I play some more and finally get back to the boss. This time I beat him, only to get raped by his second form. BACK TO 6-1 AGAIN!!
So this continues for awhile and I actually become quite good at 6-1 through 6-4. I was able to go from 6-1 back to the boss in about 15-20 minutes (on my best runs, usually about 25-30 mins) and I did this about 7 or 8 times until I finally quit. It's so stupid, I know I could beat the boss with some practice and patience, but I'm not going to spend a half hour of my time just to get back to him.

So Ninja Gaiden goes down with an asterisk for me. I beat everything the game had to offer except the second form of the last boss and I have much better things to do instead of spending 30 minutes trying to get back to him everytime I die. If I was a kid I'd sit in front of the TV until he was dead but I got things to do and I'm not leaving the system on all day paused.
So thats 2 titles, Kickle Cubicle and Ninja Gaiden*. 48 more to go until I reach my goal.
(PS - I might go back and try to beat this game again someday if I get a camcorder so I can record Stage 6-2. I actually got really good at it from playing it so much and can almost beat it undamaged... maybe even could if I was patient enough.)
Almost is good, and I'm sure you're busy, but you didn't actually finish the game.
