Last night Nintendo announced that Deadly Premonition 2: A Blessing in Disguise will release on the Switch in 2020.
I'm absolutely speechless.
Over the years, I've played hundreds - maybe thousands of games. I've never played anything like Deadly Premonition before or since.
Every October 1st, I replay Deadly Premonition on my Xbox 360 and try to %100 complete it before Halloween is over.
I will not play it any other time of year in order to keep it special to me.
Now, against all odds, Deadly Premontion 2 will see the light of day. Mastermind Swery65 is again at the helm.
With all of the companies involved in making the first game either splitting, closing or being bought out by others - a sequel seemed like it would be next to impossible to be okayed.
I have not been this happy in a long, long time.
If you haven't played the first Deadly Premonition yet, I highly suggest playing the Xbox 360 version.
Yes, the graphics look like a PS2 game. Yes the map system is confusing. Yes the driving mechanics (at first) are horrendous. But if you complete the game - truly complete the game, you understand that every single quirk about the game is exactly as it should be. The PS3 and PC versions look a bit better, but are really, really glitchy.
If anyone else is excited about this game - or is at least curious to check out the trailer, here's the link below.
Today is a good day.
