Hi all! I've been a frequent visitor to the site for quite a while now, now I've finally registered and hopefully I can become a productive contributor to the site.

I'm just getting into collecting NES games really, I'm also interested in starting back up my Dreamcast collection, (my first collection of Sport Special Edition, 3 VMU's, 3 cont. and 31 games was stolen, along with quite a large amount of other personal belongings... it's safe to say we moved out of that neighborhood soon after and have been quite safe for the 2 years at our new place.) I'm looking for a decent start, maybe someone around here can help ... and on to NES, I bought an original NES about 6 months ago with a mere 3 games, and 2 controls and a zapper. I've gotten my game total up to about 35 games, 4 controllers and a very good conditioned power pad still in box ...

But this seems like a very user-friendly place to start my collecting ways, and maybe you guys could offer whatever tips you can, and I'm always looking to expand my collection!

A few tips from me.
#1 Decide whether you want to collect CIB or cart only NOW! It is a pain in the ass to go back and find all of that stuff after you have a big collection of cart only's!
#2 If you're an eBay shopper, buy in lots, don't bother with single loose carts, it is a waste of money for 95% of the NES library!

Lot's of friendly people here to help for whatever level of collecting you're into, and plenty of fine folks to sell/trade you anything you're wanting as well. As far as tips, just browse around the forums for a bit and you'll learn a lot; or, post some questions, and you'll get a ton of help. If you stick around long enough to catch the buzz, you'll have a few hundred games this time next year -- we're all addicts!

Why I was just singing this song yesterday when L-o-l-a was playing in the dollar store BTW I highly recommend dollar stores for stocking stuffers, look in the toy aisles for some wonderful engrish.
