Bea, you know you can use an emulator, right? It might not be up your alley, but it counts.

For some personal reasons, she can't stand playing on emulator for more than 5 minutes.
I would rather have her playing everytime, but hey, we got to respect the lady's choice.

I don't have this one either, I won't be in this week.

Actually, I take that back, I think I have this game on my 76-in-1 cart. IIRC multicarts are allowed in the contest as long as the games aren't hacked.

I think it should be.
Clu Clu Land on multicart is absolutely the same game as on a famicom or NTSC cartridge.

You know, I might have it in a 64-in-1 cart that came with my NES clone.
I'll check it when I get home.

I can consistently get to the fifth stage without much trouble, but then I lose all of my lives in like 30 seconds.

**UPDATE**

Starting to get a little better at this game.  I can get past the fifth stage now and I'm getting the hang of the controls a lot better than I was before.  Got real lucky on this playthrough and made it to the second purple stage and probably could've done better if it wasn't for those dumb rubber bands.

**UPDATE 2**

Did even better this time around and got to the second orange stage.  Again, I probably could've done even better and gotten to the second bonus stage if it wasn't for those dumb rubber bands.

high five for similar Toshiba TV (albeit yours looks a lot larger than my 13 inch one)

finally made it past stage 5 up to stage 7 then just completely lost it in like 30 seconds.

^Nice score. High five indeed for similar TVS. My Toshiba is a 27 inch one.

My 64 in 1 cart doesn't have it. I won't be taking part of this contest.
So sad...

don't make new posts for new scores, edit your original post. also put your score in big typeface at the top.

Is it OK to play the PAL version? (probably a bit slower)...

As long as the PAL and NTSC versions are the same, then that should be no problem.  However, if the PAL version is slower than the NTSC version, then I'm going to have to say no to the PAL version.  It could potentially create an unfair speed advantage for those using the NTSC version.

**Edited for grammar**

Because this game in particular is getting harder by progressively going faster, I agree with bimmy that it should be forbidden to play with a PAL cart.
You still can play the NTSC rom through emulation.

If you just want to have fun, you can submit your PAL score, but it will not count in the contest.
We're only here to have fun anyway

Ha. This game just so happened to be at a local store, so I'm in this week after all! Should be somewhere around the bottom, though. It's got weird controls! I've passed the first level only, so far. For around 5500 points. Screenshot will come later....

Edit: Okay, so this is probably it for me this week.... This game takes some getting used to!

Here's my first try  158,430, used a rom+fce+usb controller since my cart is in storage, all default settings no savestates. I made a movie too if anyone wants to see it, it's attached and compressed with 7Zip.

Back in the days when this 1st came out, I used to have every stage memorized, and could get each bar flipped sequentially without a mistake. I forgot how hard it gets after the point where if you turn over a gold bar and you go back over it again it flips over, and then you have to redo it one more time for it to count. This starts to happen after you have looped all the stages 4-5 times
