For anyone unfamiliar with this game,I would recommend using a medium swing. You won't hit it as far but you'll have better control. Also choose your club wisely, especially with a significant wind going in a certain direction. It definitely makes a difference. And as far as the little white line on the swing meter, just remember that whatever side your arrow is on that line, the ball will move in the opposite direction.
So if the arrow is to the left of the line, your ball will hook right and vice versa. Very helpful to help keep your ball on the course when there is a strong east or west wind.

Updated my scored. I had a shot at the temporary lead but doubled on 18. Oh well that'll probably be it for me this week. Best of luck everyone

Actually, the mechanics for Hot Shots is easier. You have an easier chance of lining up a perfect shot then this game. Not a huge fan of NES golf games because of the lack of variety with your shots (can't really hit a draw of fades). Plus, hitting in the rough is the biggest disadvantage. It seems you need to take a ridiculous amount of club on some shots (even with no wind and your ball is just sitting on top of the first cut of rough). I played alittle bit last night and one instance I was only 117 yrds away and I ending up using a 6 iron to just barely make it to the edge of the green.

True enough, it's a bit harder to get the downswing on the line, but what helps a lot is how you manage it. You can easily do draw and fade on this one depending where you stop the down swing plus you can use the d-pad to setup the spins on the ball as well. Unlike more modern stuff you can't magic-coach it while it is in flight though.

I did one set of holes last night and got a +5 but didn't save it as it bugged me, perfectionism I guess because when I was bothering a year ago on it I could do better. I just outright gave up playing the stuff between that and Let's Golf 3D on the 3DS back then. If I can get it under par I'll take a pic but not until that point at all.

Well, so far so good. I actually thought I would do MUCH worse than this. I'll take it. I definitely feel like I can improve on this score. I had lots of fun playing the game though. Probably the best golf game on the system. Lots of frowns... ^>^

Score: +16

SCORE: +21

Whew, not quite like I remembered lol.  Never really played the UK course much.  All it takes is a couple bad shots into the woods or water and your scrwed.  I did chip one in from about 40 yds out, which was kind of redeeming for a split second.

yeah, very true. I just wish you could move left or right when deciding how much back/top spin you want to put on the ball.

Shot a +3 last night, going to play it again a few times, I'm determined to shoot under par. Definitely a big fan of this game, probably the best golf game for the NES, thanks for putting this one on the list! The more sports games the better as far as I'm concerned...

UPDATE: 83 (+11)

Guts, if you were here, I'd kiss you!...in the most hetero of ways, of course...yeah, I'm feeling uncomfortable, so I'll move on

Your advice on speed and club selection helped big time. It still took me a while to put together a game like this since I kept screwing up on different holes in interesting ways during each round but I finally put together what may be as good as I can get. Now, if it can only hold for a top 10. Either way, I'll keep going.

Score update! Had a good feeling about this game. Blew it near the end thinking I could crack around a +10. It wasn't meant to be! lol. I'm still confident I can beat that score. We shall see. Still having loads of fun with this one. ^>^

Man that was a good laugh! Awesome man,I'm glad I could help! I try to help everyone improve when I can! I haven't had the chance to play this since sunday because of my 2 job deal mon-wed,but I may try to experiment with the backspin feature. I'm sure it is helpful with the chipshots onto the greens. We'll see.

Update x 2:
77 (+5)

Glad I got a laugh off of you Guts, it's not everyday my off beat sense of humor gets a chuckle!

Anyway, this is better than I ever thought I'd do this week. I really hate that final hole, but still, from where I was at the beginning of the contest I'll gladly take this score. Now I feel better about my top 10 chances...maybe.

^Nice score! Working on one myself at the moment......and here it is!

70 (-2)

I would have had -4 under (or better) if I hadn't of botched my putting on the 18th hole. I did score my first hole in one on the 8th which was pretty sweet and good timing too since I started recording. Wish I would have thought about it earlier. Will upload it to photobucket if anyone wants to check it out.
