Been working the night shift for 10 - 12 hours each day (night?). I should have rent covered for this month so hopefully I'll be able to start hunting again soon. RAWR! I's gonna get you bad gamez!1 Then I is going to attempt to trade you... because... well considering I think writing terrible is funny thinking I could actually trade some of this crap is of similar intellect.

Short reviews (time not spent hunting means I actually have been playing games!):
Arkista's Ring: Some minor control issues keeps this from being one of the top NES games of all time.

ActRaiser: Wow, this game is way better than ActRaiser 2.

Valkyrie Profile: The game is primarily about the combat engine with the story and characters as the catalyst for beating things up. Fortunately beating things up is awesome. Music is not as good as Star Ocean but still still has that beautiful PSX Motoi Sakuraba sound that is so wonderful and unique. Sub par localization is starting to annoy me.

Kirby 64: Slooooooooooooooooooow. Not the best Kirby but still interesting. I'm digging it. Lot of the mechanics are, or are similar to, the ones in Kirby 2. That is good, bad, and interesting.

Monster Rancher Battle Card GB: Best worst localization in the history of video games hands down. Everything else? Lackluster.

Heroes of Might and Magic III: Top 10 game lists are dumb for a million reasons. One reason is this game is not on any list and that is because most people have not played it. This is one of those games that keeps pulling me in year after year.

Hybrid Heaven: I was planning on testing this, finding out it sucks, then putting it on my trade list. Instead I found a game with homoerotic overtones, really really bad voice work (more than just the acting), and a really odd unique battle system. If that is not a keeper I do not know what is!

Duel Master: Sempai Legends:
Disappointing. Forcing me to fight 20 battles before I can continue the game for no reason other than to delay the game by 3 hours is bullshit. Overall the game was decent enough to overlook the myriad of minor flaws.

Final Fantasy IX:
Good but forgettable. The characters are okay but have no drive or development, and the story drags you behind it. It's not bad but not engaging enough to be good. The battle system is solid but a bit too generic and simple. I completed it a decade ago so maybe it gets better? Or maybe I had nothing better to do...

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance:
When I first played this years ago I despised it. I wanted Final Fantasy Tactics 2 and instead I got a watered down Final Fantasy Tactics Gaiden. One thing I hated was there is no obvious way to abuse the game. When I think about it, being able to figure out the system and break it is one of the main reasons I love SRPGs. FFT and Disgaea are masters of this. Anyways, I'm looking past that and it seems to be okay. One thing that has me intrigued at the moment is there is a character who's every other line is similar to something Delita said in FFT.

FFIX is taking foooooooorrreeeeeeeeeeeeveeeeeeeerrrrrrrrr. And that's with a toggleable random battle disabler.

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance is disappointing. I gave it a chance, 20 hours of chance in fact, and for 15 of those hours I've had the same boring characters with the same boring skills doing boring quests in a boring world.

If the battle system was good I could forgive the rest. But its not. Its a dumb watered down system with no interesting skills or choices to be made.

FFIX done. I have a pretty solid idea why FFIX is a good game yet completely forgettable. Overall, since its crazy cheap, if you have not played it give it a whirl.

Next game: FFT.

FFTA angers up the blood. I need to play a good proper strategy game. I'm using the hard mode code and have sharked in all enemies to level 96 (so they have some growth left while still being crazy powerful).

Afterwards I'm contemplating: Shining Force series (just got the last one I needed!), BoF II, or some non-series NES RPG (Willow?).

I know, you don't care. But I need to put something here.

Dragon Warrior Monsters seems okay so far.
