Uhh, open the packets yet???
Nope. This was literally just minutes ago and I'm kinda scared to contaminate my work area with whatever it might be. Kinda disappointed that my only PAL game is missing a chunk of the PCB (obviously can't work).
Next step is to contact the police, I guess, unless anyone has a better idea. Then again, I don't even know what it is yet. Not sure if it's safe to open but I might open one shortly. I don't want to be found in posession of anything that would need to be smuggled like this appears to have been but seeing what it is first should be legal.
Police are probably going to want to keep all that. The flea market vendor is a friend so I hope reporting it doesn't cause any problems for him. He obviously doesn't know what is in them either. Before buying them I pointed out the suspicious weight and asked the vendor for a gamebit. He started looking for one but couldn't find it immediately. His search was clearly disrupting everyone else behind the counter so I called it off and just paid him for them, promising to tell him what I found inside.
It totalled $7 so I gave him $10 expecting $3 back, but he returned a $5. I asked if that was a deliberate discount and he confirmed.
At first we were thinking it'd be something like a Famicom adapter but then we noticed that they were 3-screw as opposed to 5-screw. All Famicom adapters are 5-screw. Then we thought it could be money or anything else.
