Beat the game, took a picture and then realized I forgot to put my username in it hahaha. Oh well. I'll beat the game again tomorrow. So much damn fun!

Progress does outweigh the score, but if two people end their attempt in the same level in the same place or a bunch of people beat the game, the lower score takes precedence.

Wow, that's rough. Congratulations on beating the game though! Hopefully I can do it before the end of the week, but doing it on one life is going to be really tough. I haven't been feeling too well, so I haven't been able to get in as much playing time as I hoped to.

Haha, thanks. Kevin would have seen by previous contests that it is the same area/TV I play all my games in but I understand the rules and I'd feel weird if I were to advance and not have my name on the screen and someone question it. Rules are rules =) I know I can beat the game so it isn't the end of the world for having to beat it again.

By the end of level 1, after defeating the boss, I think my score was 6,500. I thought it was pretty good.

LOL, I don't know if I can, especially now that we have to go through the Sunken City--which ironically is more or less a trap that can be skipped. I played this a couple years ago with a friend, and I went to the Sunken City on purpose to listen to the Aquarius track and realized my mistake quickly. I didn't remember it being such a pain as a kid, although the music and water rising was a bit much for me back then.

At any rate, I still haven't even fired this up.

Make sure you have the cross. This makes the Sunken City a lot easier.

Going to try to post a score tonight. I've had the flu since wednesday so I've been doing a lot of sleeping during that time.

That's for sure. I was finally able to beat the game without using a continue, but I lost my first life on the sunken city so the entire run didn't do me a bit of good as far as the contest goes.

I am giving this another go because I really want to beat the game again and got pretty damn close on this run. Just in case I don't, here is a score for me at least.

Last Update: Tier 2 Level 6-04 26,750. I didn't realize the wrong path I took in the first shot (thanks gutsman). And, I'm done playing this one. Sunken city sank my hopes of trying to continue.

This one just got the best of me. I'm done. If I make it to the next round it will be sheer luck with this score. I just don't have the time anymore to put into this one. I was able to get to through the first few stages on pacifist level but after that it was just kill everything in site lol. Good Luck to everyone else who makes it to the finals. This year has been a blast competiting!

No,I mean the score is invalid because that particular area is not the bottom path. Stage 6 for the bottom path is the sunken city.

(Died just as I killed Grim Reaper's first form)

Made a silly mistake on the Grim Reaper level where I lost my Triple-Shot Holy Water to an unexpected candle.  I got the water back, but since I'm used to the Triple, I couldn't stun the Reaper like I usually do.  Oh well.

Count me among those who hate the sunken temple stage.  I usually avoid that stage like the plague.  It's the one of the hardest stages in the game, takes too long for speedrunning, and has no useful purpose for scoring points.  Oh yeah, the boss is random and rather cheap!

I can get to the Grim Reaper in 1 life, but it just wasn't happening this week. This was my best attempt, I managed to trap myself during the Cyclops fight and took a pic before I died. I hope this is enough to make it through. Congrats on the great scores everyone.
