So I think I'd like to try out some fun N64 hacks, so I was going to buy a Everdrive 64,

So I went on Krizz web store, and saw version 2.5 is $107, and version 3 is $175?!?

Quite the price hike, but I cannot figure out what is better / different??

Any ideas? Anyone want to sell me their N64 Everdrive?

Thanks!

The SRAM is worth it for me, but if itsn't and issue for you go with the cheaper version.

If you're specifically interested in hacks, Animal Forest (translation) is one of the big ones. Afaik you need the real time clock for the game to function properly

I bought the V3 a while back because I didn't want to have to remember to reset the console before turning it off every time, to save my game.

The 64drive beats both Everdrive versions in term of bang for your buck, especially with the new version released:

I just received 2.5 yesterday. Hitting reset before turning the console off isn't bad at all, and it wasn't worth the $70 for the ability to play a few other games.

You're better off just buying it from the site. Second hand copies sell for about the same price. Mine took a month to arrive but it also shipped in December and probably got stuck in the holiday rush.
