Hello everyone and welcome to the latest installment of the weekly contests!  Last week's contest of Bases Loaded didn't prove to be too popular, so hopefully this week's game will see a bit more participation.  This week's game is probably going to be a bit unfamiliar to some people but others will know it.  You guys are playing Palamedes.  Here are the rules:

• Play on 1 Player Mode
• Play on Level 1
• Play until you lose
• To get your score after you lose, select 1 Player Mode, Level 1 and immediately pause the game.  Your score will be in the high score spot.
• Highest score wins
• GENRE: Puzzle

The contest ends Sunday, 8/18/13 at 10 PM NA time.  Your user name MUST be in the picture for your score to be valid.  The entire TV screen, or computer monitor if you are playing on an emulator, MUST be in the picture for the score to be valid.  No partial screenshots will be considered or accepted.  No screenshots by hitting "print screen" on a computer will be allowed.  You must take a picture of your computer monitor.  There may be instances where this will be acceptable, but it will be at the discretion of myself and the contest organizers.  Also, the use of turbo controllers is forbidden, as well as any cheat codes, Game Genies, or save states if playing on an emulator.  Also, we will only be using NTSC systems for the contests.  The use of PAL systems will NOT be allowed.  Good luck everyone and have fun

This game... is weird. I looked it up on youtube, and I don't even know. Googled the gameplay, and this is NOT a game to figure out blindly. Best of luck all!

Puzzler time! Crabmaster should be all over this. This is....by Hot-B? The same people who made the Black Bass? Nice. Lol.

I played it a little today. It's honestly not a bad game.The controls do seem a little sluggish though.

Unreal game, can't wait to trounce you all at it, especially you Crabmaster if you haven't been kidnapped by polar bears yet.

edit: old score removed, new score below. keeping my fingers crossed that the cart i bought arrives before the end of the week so i can get my last games in on my real tv with a better controller.

updated-638,940. I may/may not try again..got alittle flustered towards the end 'cause I forgot my order of the die lol. But, some good scores thus far (wouldn't expect anything less from Krunch).

I found them to be ok...I did have a few moments where I panicked and didn't combo right but otherwise I was ok with them.

So apparently I had no idea how to play this. I had no clue about pressing down for combos. I basically was just trying to clear the board by shooting out all the blocks as fast as possible. Got up to around 308k that way....so I guess I made it to level 7. I didn't take a picture though since it was before the contest started. Looking forward to spending more time with this.

oh man getting a "perfect" is a total game changer. i read the instructions to figure out the combo thing and totally missed that. thanks krunch!

No problem. It's all about getting perfects, but gets really tricky around level 13 or so.

My strategy is gonna be to go until it gets too hard to score perfects, and then switch to going for 1-2-3-4-5-6's as long as I can. My goal is...

I'm surprised by how much I enjoy this game. I didn't know much about it other than reading mixed reviews before playing it, but I'm going to be looking into buying this in the future.

With that said, I wish I bought this game already. My NES-style USB controller is giving me issues, in that the down button seems to go down on its own and I can't make it through two straight levels without it happening. I thought it may have been me, but I used a different PC controller and everything was fine. I'm debating personally what I should submit, although it doesn't matter to the rules I'm guessing, I still feel more "legit" using a NES controller (with the defective controller my best score was about 150K after 10+ games, and over 300K after just one game with the other one). That's what I get for being too lazy for not buying a USB adaptor for a regular NES controller yet.

Been fairly busy this week but I should have a score up sometime before Sunday.

I'll put one up tonight. I'm not THAT good at puzzlers,but I try. If I make the top ten this week I'll be mildly surprised. Not that I'm horrible at this game,but because it looks like there are going to be a lot of impressive scores posted.
