This game is brutal... I assume we start in the beginning area not the advanced +5000 spot?

I loved this game as a kid, maybe will break out the NES for at least a participation score.

But yes I don't know if I ever beat the game, it gets hard very quickly!

EDIT:  Marton, does that screen mean you beat it?!  Congrats if you did, I remember it getting pretty difficult at mission 3 or 4 (out of 6)

Marton did not beat it, that's the high-score screen.
Still a good game here Marton!

But don't you only get to the high score screen after you beat it or after you lose all of your lives? Rules are one life only?

I'm not sure, it's been a loooooong time since I played. Only thing I remember is the guillotine screen with the executioner at game over.

If you let the continue counter clock get to 0, you go to the high score screen (if you have a high score to register).
Best way to take the screenshot I think.

Yeah, I figured out it was the best way to take a screenshot, too bad I figured it after a 16000 score without picture .

Not bad for a first try

Unfortunately this game comes down to a lot of luck once those game Gold ships enter the mix. It just takes a few well placed craters that you can't build over and you are really screwed.

Wow, looks like I telepathically scored 10,000 points at some point

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

I have Rampart for the Famicom, but not for the NES. Is the scoring and gameplay the same between the two? I'll join in the competition if the FC version is acceptable, as I know that I've beaten at least stage five or later, as memory serves.

Aha! Apparently I've never played the American release as I purchased the FC version when it was new and I've been enjoying it ever since. I'll have to locate the NES version and compare them... If I can do so before the contest ends, I'll participate. I used to own the arcade and I enjoyed that too, until it was stolen, so this is perfect for me. Thanks!

Eh, this is good enough for a start.  Actually, it's my first time playing this game and it's pretty fun.  I'll have to try this out more later on.

My NES collection count: 757 games (16 to go for a full set)

Latest Purchase(s): Snow Brothers

I just punished myself the same way. I had a score above 31,000 and by the time I got the camera out, the high-score screen went away and I couldn't get it back, as it doesn't repeat after the game demos itself.  Thanks Tengen!

I'll try again later, remembering this time not to enter my initials before taking a photo. Later, when I'm not frustrated.

What is the present top score that needs to be the target for me to beat?
