All of those NOAC clones have the same problems with the same games. Quite a few of them aren't all that rare (Castlevania 3 is the biggest example, but I've had problems with Final Fantasy, as well)
And in my experience, saving your game with a battery backup is a risky bet given how those systems operate their reset switch.
Personally, I'd rather have a reliable piece of hardware that's been doing it's job successfully for 20 years, than some cheap POS made by pirates.
Thats not true at all. The Retro Duo is high quality, and the machine looks great. RD plays nearly all games, including Castlevania 3, and SNES special chip games, such as Star Fox, and Mario RPG.
Previously I had the Yobo FC twin. The machine worked great, and it was compatible with alot of games. Eventually though, I sold it on ebay for $40.. which is good considering I paid $40 for it new. It just looked kind of cheap, and the compatability wasnt enough for me, but im sure its good enough for the average gamer. Thats why I got the Retro Duo.. it just looks like a nice piece, and its super compatable. I put it in my livingroom to play with company. I still have my toaster, but I moved it to my bedroom, and I play RPGs with the Acclaim wireless controllers before I go to bed. This way my batteries stay operational, and I dont abuse my NES as much.
I also purchased a Generation NEX once on ebay, but something was wrong with it, the colors were dark and blurry and sometimes the picture skipped.. I think the previous owner abused it, the machine itself was dirty, so im not going to blame Messiah. Infact I think when my God Slayer cart arrives, I might buy another one to play it on, because I cant seem to find any converter, and all the Gyromites I open are empty ggrrr!
Overall the NOACs are crap, but if you look at alot of the newer ones, they are doing good.. some of them are designed in USA. I did alot of research, and id say rght now the best one out is the Retro Duo.. it even has an S-Video port for SNES games.
