I got home from work super late, tried to pop in the cart, and it will not work. This sucks.

Btchs pls.  I grew up on this game, it was the first title along with SMB I received for Christmas of 1986.  Played it to death, I know every nook and cranny in this bitch.  I'm gonna live in this bitch.  This is after one run through.  Lost a few lives, especially in the Moai stage, which I hate.  If you're wondering why I stopped here it's because my wife wanted to watch TV.  That's the only thing that saved your souls.

It's you and me buddy.  I have a feeling you got this your first Christmas too.  LET US COMBAT TO THE DEATH (see my score posted above).

Near impossible, actually.  The wall got you, didn't it?  Hate that thing!  I played it earlier today and made it to that part and died because I forgot about it.  Worst part of the game is forgetting that.

LOL, my soul definitely needed saving. Thank god for your wife and a litany of television programs.

(Awesome score, BTW.)

Thanks man.  Yeah, it's just a matter of me having played this too many damn times.  I loved this game, it was one of only two games I had for quite awhile, we didn't have a lot of money.  Next one I got was Kid Icarus, I believe, but I sucked at that until I got older.  I was actually going to pause it because she wanted to watch the Walking Dead DVDs I rented her, but sadly I plugged the adaptor in the upper part of the electrical socket so it had to come out to watch.  It's okay, we'll see if I can get higher.  But my curse is to typically do very good my first score, care to much and then suck, and then it takes me several goes to not suck again.

This was in my first batch of NES games too, Stan. I doubt I will trump that though, especially if I am forced to emulate it. I can't believe my copy of 23 years might be dead in the water.

Nah, it's not that hard really, just memorization.  Last level is the toughest, trick is to always try to have your next force field loaded for when you lose it, then it's a breeze.

Edit: Sucks on that.  I've had this cart since I first got it.  I think I'd cry if it ever went dead.

Yeah, I am trying right now on my comp, and that moai stage is rocking me.  I can get there without dying, but I keep getting destroyed.  I just need to get used to playing a shmup on my emulator, I guess.

And, yes, it is terrible my copy might be dead.  I don't know what happened.  I beat the game on New Year's Day.

Def wouldn't be easy through emu without a controller.  Moai stage, screw points, stick to the top and wait till the last moment to move forward so you don't get clocked in the back.  Collision detection is a bit shaky that stage too, you can't get as close to them as you'd think sometimes.

That's a big problem I have, is keeping the forcefield loaded. I always end up running into a powerup accidentally and reloading everything. I'm always like, "NOOOOOOOOO"

Yeah that killed me at least once.  Hate that, especially when they're in a pattern you can't avoid.

Tried to improve my score, but I'm just not feeling it tonight...my reaction speed and my ability to perceive what's going on around me is just not up to snuff today. Came close to matching it, but no improvements tonight.

"It's always amazing to me how some of the most worthless games from a gaming perspective tend to fetch outrageous amounts of money. But then again, it could be said that something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I'm curious if the high bidder of the $873.04 Stadium Events (cart-only) realizes that it's nowhere nearly as rare as about 20+ games I can think of that sell for 1/10th that amount?  At any rate, I wanted to draw attention to this trend: if people say it's rare, it must be true, and therefore it must be had at any price."

My understanding was that pics of the loop were only necessary if the score was looped...not the game...

It's cool.  Surprised you edited it though.  But yeah, the game goes endlessly, and 8 million was hit last year, so a loop of the score is feasible.

WOW! How can you get such ahigh score in Stage 3?

^^When you beat the game, it repeats. So that's Stage 3 a second time around.
